Ruth Emorette Case married Edward Holcombe, son of Anson Noadiah Holcombe and Harriet Maria Street, on 29 November 1865 at North Canton, Hartford Co., CT. Ruth Emorette Case married Dr. Erastus Eli Case, son of Norton Case and Eliza Case, on 24 February 1886 at Hartford, Hartford Co., CT. Ruth Emorette Case died on 26 December 1940 at West Hartford, Hartford Co., CT, at age 99. She was buried on 28 December 1940 at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford, Hartford Co., CT.

Ruth was recorded in the 1900 Windsor census, sheet 301B, with Erastus, her two daughters Lizzie and Amy, from her first marriage, and Helen and Everett Case. Jennie must have died before 1900 as a child under 10 would surely still be in the family and she is not listed here. Emorette Case was enumerated n the 1940 West Hartford, Hartford Co., CT, federal census. She was 98 and her two daughters were also in the household, Amy and Mary Holcomb.

Mrs. Emorette Holcomb Case, 99, of 84 Washington Circle, West Hartford, widow of Dr. Erastus E. Case, died Thursday evening at her home after a short illness. She was born in West Granby, July 10, 1841, daugher of the late Everett and Emily Hoskins Case, and was of Colonial ancestry. She leaves two daughtes, Miss Mary I. Holcomb and Miss Amy I. Holcomb; a son, Everett E. Case, all of West Hartford, three step-children and several grandchildren. She was a member to the Mt. Holyoke Club of Hartford and the First Congregational Church of Windsor. The funeral will be held at the James t. Pratt Company Chapel, 71 Farmingto Avenue, Saturday at 2 p.m. Rev. Roscoe Nelson, pastor emeritus of the First Congregationnal Church of Windsor, will officiate. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
