She was born in Bristol, September 13, 1929, the daughter of David and Olive (Schubert) Diaz, and raised in Plainville for 19 years. She had resided in Farmington and Simsbury prior to moving to Swanzey. She recently moved to Keene two years ago. Mrs. Holcomb attended Plainville schools, graduating from the Plainville High School. She was a skilled typist and stenographer and went on to work at the General Electric plant in Plainville. Mrs. Holcomb opened a travel agency called International Travel Service in Bristol. She loved to take golfers from Bristol and Terryville to Spain where her father was born for golfing excursions. She was a member of the Keene Country Club for nearly 20 years and had served on the Board of Directors. She was extremely passionate about golfing and all aspects of the sport. She had been the treasurer of the Women's Golf for 10 years at the country club. She worked hard to play better and finally was accepted into the NHWGA (Women's Golf Association.) She had a love of children and worked with them on the sport of golfing. Mrs. Holcomb loved all animals, antiques, but especially golf. Mrs. Holcomb said "I'm sure by now you are teeing off up there with old friends from KCC who went before.
