     Friend Cadwell was born in June 1852 at CT.¹ He married Mary Melissa Holcombe, daughter of Martin Beldon Holcombe and Mary Jane Shepard, circa 1877.¹

     Samuel Pickering Gardner was born on 14 May 1767 at Wenham, MA.¹ He married Rebecca Russell Lowell, daughter of John Lowell and Rebecca Russell, on 19 September 1797 at Roxbury, MA.¹ Samuel Pickering Gardner died on 18 December 1843 at Boston, Suffolk Co., MA, at age 76.¹

     Ebenezer Lowell was born circa 1675.¹ He married Elizabeth Shaller on 30 January 1693/94 at Boston, Suffolk Co., MA.¹ Ebenezer Lowell died on 10 September 1711 at Boston, Suffolk Co., MA.¹

     La Vaughn Johnson was born in 1915.¹ She was the daughter of James Preston Johnson and Phoebe Moten.¹ La Vaughn Johnson died in 2002.¹

     Phoebe Moten was born on 17 December 1879 at Villa Ridge, Pulaski Co., IL.¹ She married Elbert Taylor on 4 December 1899.¹ Phoebe Moten married James Preston Johnson on 20 April 1901 at Edwardsville, Madison Co., IL.¹

Phoebe Taylor was enumerated in the 1900 Villa Ridge, Pulaski Co., IL federal census in the household of her in-laws Jeff and Lina Taylor. She was 20, a housekeeper, widowed.

     Clyde H. Holcombe was born in July 1894 at OH.¹ He was the son of Albert Holcombe and Emma (?)¹

     Calio Johnson was born in 1906 at St. Louis, St. Louis Co., MO.¹ He was the son of James Preston Johnson and Phoebe Moten.¹

     Eliza Tinsley was born in 1878.¹ She was the daughter of (?) Tinsley. Eliza Tinsley married Jim Jumper.¹ Eliza Tinsley died say 1918.

It appears that Eliza and Jim died during the Flu epidemic in North Carolina in 1918.

     Moses Holcombe was born on 12 May 1823 at OH.¹ He was the son of Truman Holcombe and Phebe Pike.¹ Moses Holcombe married Hannah Tennant on 7 November 1848.¹ Moses Holcombe died on 10 April 1895 at age 71.¹

Moses and Hannah were enumerated in the 1850 Camden, Lorain Co., OH, federal census. He was 26, she was 20. The only child in the household was Lydia, 1.

Moses and Hannah were agina enumerated n the 1870 Camden Federal census. He was a farmer, age 47, she was 39. Children in the household wrere Olivia 17, Truman 14, and Fred 5. Also in the household were his parents, Truman 81, and Phebe 71.

     Carrie Tinsley was born circa 1883. She was the daughter of (?) Tinsley. Carrie Tinsley married John Coleman.¹

     Katherine Koch was born circa 1916.¹ She married William George Holcombe, son of Samuel George Holcombe and Amy Gould.¹

     Monroe Holcombe was born circa 1842 at MA.¹ He was the son of Chandler Holcombe and Juliett Moore.¹

     Robert Burns Alchin was born in 1833 at England. He married Catherine Anginette Holcombe, daughter of Chandler Holcombe and Juliett Moore, on 21 July 1858 at Rockford, Winnebago Co., IL.

     George Edward Humphrey was born on 22 January 1879 at NE.^1,2 He was the son of Edward George Humphrey and Samantha Godard Holcombe.¹ George Edward Humphrey married Julia Maybelle Bliss on 4 March 1903.¹ George Edward Humphrey died on 26 February 1968 at age 89.¹

Geo. E. and May B. were enumerated in the Independent, Valley Co., NE, federal census. He was a farmer age 31, she was 30. Children in the household were Joseph B. 6, Marybelle E. 4, Frank G. and George F. twins 2, and Ruth M. 9 months.

     Francis Cabot Lowell was born on 5 January 1803 at Boston, Suffolk Co., MA.¹ He was the son of Francis Cabot Lowell and Hannah Jackson.² Francis Cabot Lowell married Mary Lowell Gardner, daughter of Samuel Pickering Gardner and Rebecca Russell Lowell, on 11 January 1826 at Boston, Suffolk Co., MA.¹ Francis Cabot Lowell died on 8 September 1874 at Waltham, Middlesex Co., MA, at age 71.¹

     Thomas W. Holcombe was born in May 1859 at OH.¹ He was the son of OH Holcombe.¹ Thomas W. Holcombe married Unknown (?) circa 1882.¹ Thomas W. Holcombe married Alpha (?) circa 1900.¹

Thomas W. and Alpha were enumerated in the 1900 Green, Gallia Co., OH, federal census. He was 41, she was 17. It was his second marriage, her first. Children in the household were Robert W. 16, Frank 11, Harry 6, and step-daughter Myrtie 1. The were enumerated in the 1910 Huntington, Gallia Co., OH, fedeal census. He was 55, she was 27. They were enumerated in the 1920 Marion, Marion Co., OH, federal census. He was 65, she was 37.

By the 1930 census apparently Alpha had died and Thomas was living with son Harry in Pleasant, Marion Co., OH. The children were spread over the county, with 3 apparently in the county childrens's home.

     Robert N. Holcombe was the son of Leon Clark Holcombe and Grace V. Nichols.¹

     Cecil R. Holcombe was born circa 1904 at OH.¹ He was the son of Thomas W. Holcombe and Alpha (?)¹

     Rev. John Lowell was born on 14 March 1703/4 at Boston, Suffolk Co., MA.¹ He was the son of Ebenezer Lowell and Elizabeth Shaller.² Rev. John Lowell married Sarah Champney on 23 December 1725 at Boston, Suffolk Co., MA.¹ Rev. John Lowell died on 15 May 1767 at Newburyport, MA, at age 63.¹

     Laurie Holcombe was born on 30 July 1946 at Bristol, Hartford Co., CT.¹ She was the daughter of William George Holcombe and Katherine Koch. Laurie Holcombe died on 24 July 2014 at Plainville, Hartford Co., CT, at age 67.¹ She was buried at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church Memorial Garden, Plainville, Hartford Co., CT.²

PLAINVILLE - Laurie Holcomb, 67, of Plainville passed away Thursday, July 24, 2014 ,at her home.

Laurie was born July 30, 1946, in Bristol, a daughter of the late William George and Katherine (Koch) Holcomb and was a longtime Plainville resident. She was employed by the City of Bristol as the Administrative Assistant to the Fire Chief, retiring after many years of service. Her grandchildren were the joy of her life and Laurie loved attending their various activities.

She leaves her grandchildren, Tyler, Jordan and Kayleigh Barber, of Berlin and Amanda, Caleb, Janique and Ellie Bulawa, of Arizona; her daughter, Kim Barber and her husband, Todd of Berlin; her sisters, Kathy DiBenedetto and her husband, Tito, of Middletown, Tricia Rice and her husband, Dewey, of Nevada, Mary Vachon, of Rocky Hill and Betty Balthazard and her husband, Roy, of Massachusetts; her sister-in-law, Valerie Holcomb of Plainville; and her son, Tony Bulawa, of Arizona. Laurie was predeceased by her brothers, Plainville Police Officer, Robert Holcomb and William Holcomb.

Funeral services in celebration of Laurie's life will be held on Saturday, Aug. 2, at 4 p.m. at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 355 Camp St., Bristol. Burial will be held privately.      Thomas A. Holcombe was born in December 1889 at PA.¹ He was the son of Albert Holcombe and Emma (?)¹

     Theresa Madey was born circa 1921 at Hartford, Hartford Co., CT. She married James R. Holcombe, son of Samuel George Holcombe and Amy Gould. Theresa Madey died on 4 December 2007 at New Britain, Hartford Co., CT. She was buried on 8 December 2007 at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Plainville, Hartford Co., CT.

Theresa M. Holcomb of New Britain died Tuesday. She was 86.

She was born in Hartford and had worked as an inspector for Fafnir Bearing Co. for more than 30 years.

She is survived by her husband, James R. Holcomb Sr; a son, James R. Holcomb Jr. of Sebastian, Fla; a daughter, Elaine Stepensky of Rocky Hill; a brother, Robert Madey of Newington; and a sister, Madeline Kinney of Berlin.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday from the Paul A. Shaker/Farmingdale Funeral Home, 764 Farmington Ave., New Britain. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Plainville. Calling hours are private.

     Robert Warner McKinney was born on 9 April 1936 at St. Vincent's Hospital, Indianapolis, Marion Co., IN.^1,2 He was the son of Francis Edward McKinney Sr. and Margaret Kathleen Warner. Robert Warner McKinney died on 4 December 1968 at Indianapolis, Marion Co., IN, at age 32.^1,3 He was buried at Calvary Cemetery, Indianapolis, Marion Co., IN.¹

Robert W. McKinney, oldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank E. McKinney, died today in Winona Hospital.

McKinney, 32, 441 Billie Lane, became ill a week ago and died in a diabetic coma.

A stock broker for Dean Whitter & Co., McKinney had previously spent nine years with Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith. He had joined the Witter company two years ago and was manager of its Weir Cook Airport office.

A graduate of Campion, a Jesuit school at Prairie du Chien, Wis., McKinney attended Indiana University where he was a member of sigma alpha Epsilon Fraternity.

McKinney was a former member of the 38th Infantry Division, Indiana National Guard.

McKinney formerly had been employed by WISH-TV and the WISH radio station.

He was a member of St. Luke Catholic Church and its Men's Club.

Other organizations of which he was a member include the Knights of Columbus, Friar's Club, Indianapolis Athletic Club, Columbia Club, Antelope Club and American Businessmen's Club.

McKinney's father, an Indianapolis banker and former Democratic national chairman, was appointed by President Johnson as United States ambassador to Spain this spring, but was unable to assume the position because of illness. His mother is a prominent civic leader and former president of the "500" Festival Associates.

McKinney was married to the former Paulette Kennedy of Martinsville. Other survivors--daughters Paula, Robin; son Guy; sisters Mrs. James C. Clark, Kathleen; brother Frank E. Jr.

Services will be at 9:15 a.m. Saturday in Feeney-Kirby Mortuary and at 10 a.m. in St. Luke's Church.

Friends may call at the mortuary after 7 p.m. tomorrow.

     Elijah Dresser was born circa 1821 at NY.¹ He married Frances E. Moore, daughter of Selden Moore and Philura Holcombe, circa 1851.¹

     Catherine (?) was born circa 1774.¹ She married Jesse Phelps, son of Lieut. Isaac Phelps and Jemima Holcombe.¹ Catherine (?) died on 21 March 1813.¹

     Eugene McDowell was born circa 1908 at IN.¹ He was the son of Archibald Thomas McDowell and Mary Rose Marcus.¹

     Jemima Phelps married Capt. Howland Marcy.¹ Jemima Phelps was born circa 1769.¹ She was the daughter of Lieut. Isaac Phelps and Jemima Holcombe.¹ Jemima Phelps died on 22 May 1804.¹

     Joe Cross married Ambrosia Holcombe, daughter of Truman Holcombe and Phebe Pike, on 20 October 1858.¹
