     Joseph Stanton Holcombe was born on 29 April 1839 at Windsor, Hartford Co., CT.^1,2 He was the son of Hermaz Holcombe II and Emily Latham. Joseph Stanton Holcombe married Orrell Ruby Bowers in 1861. Joseph Stanton Holcombe died on 21 January 1921 at Boston, Suffolk Co., MA, at age 81. He was buried at Elm Grove Cemetery, Windsor, Hartford Co., CT.

Joseph and Ruby A. were enumerated in the 1880 Windsor, Hartford Co., CT, federal census. He was an explorer and surveyor, age 41; she was 38. Children in the household were Arthur 16, and Josephine H. 12.

Joseph and Ruby were eumerated in the 1900 Windsor, Hartford Co., CT, federal census. He was a farm laborer, age 61; she was 58. There were no children in the household.

Joseph S. and Ruby O. were enumerated in the 1910 Windsor, Hartford Co., CT, federal census. He was a laborer, age 70, she was 68. One of their 2 children was still living.

     Theron N. Holcombe was born in February 1841 at CT.² He was the son of Hermaz Holcombe II and Emily Latham. Theron N. Holcombe married Hortense G. Clark say 1868.²

     Ellen M. Holcombe was born in November 1849 at CT. She was the daughter of Hermaz Holcombe II and Emily Latham. Ellen M. Holcombe married Thomas Clark say 1874.

Ellen is recorded in the 1900 Windsor census, page 14B, with husband Thomas Clark, and mother Emily, then aged 92.

     Orrell Ruby Bowers was born in June 1841 at CT.¹ She married Joseph Stanton Holcombe, son of Hermaz Holcombe II and Emily Latham, in 1861.

     Helen Josephine Holcombe was born on 31 December 1867 at CT. She was the daughter of Joseph Stanton Holcombe and Orrell Ruby Bowers. Helen Josephine Holcombe died on 4 May 1962 at Farmington (now New Britain), CT, at age 94.

     Arthur Holcomb Harris was born on 7 April 1889 at Middletown, Middlesex Co., CT. He was the son of Edwin Hazen Harris and Helen Josephine Holcombe. Arthur Holcomb Harris married Elizabeth Frances Dillon, daughter of John Henry Dillon, on 22 October 1919. Arthur Holcomb Harris died on 13 November 1964 at New Britain, Hartford Co., CT, at age 75. Arthur was a dealer in road builders supplies, member of the American Road Builders Association and of the American Society of State Highway Officials.

     Raymond Hazen Harris was the son of Edwin Hazen Harris and Helen Josephine Holcombe.

     Elizabeth Frances Dillon was born on 21 September 1894 at New Britain, CT. She was the daughter of John Henry Dillon. Elizabeth Frances Dillon married Arthur Holcomb Harris, son of Edwin Hazen Harris and Helen Josephine Holcombe, on 22 October 1919. Elizabeth Frances Dillon died on 18 December 1973 at New Britain, Hartford Co., CT, at age 79.

     Robert Edwin Harris was born on 4 October 1921 at New Britain, CT. He was the son of Arthur Holcomb Harris and Elizabeth Frances Dillon. Robert Edwin Harris died in 2005.

     Richard Dillon Harris was born on 8 November 1925 at New Britain, CT. He was the son of Arthur Holcomb Harris and Elizabeth Frances Dillon. Richard Dillon Harris died in 2010.

     Roderick Ruby Harris was born on 5 October 1927 at New Britain, CT. He was the son of Arthur Holcomb Harris and Elizabeth Frances Dillon. Roderick Ruby Harris died in 1988.

     Arthur Holcomb Harris Jr. was born on 21 November 1932 at New Britain, Hartford Co., CT. He was the son of Arthur Holcomb Harris and Elizabeth Frances Dillon. Arthur Holcomb Harris Jr. died on 31 May 2020 at New Britain, Hartford Co., CT, at age 87.

Arthur Holcomb "Archie" Harris, Jr., 87, died Sunday May 31, 2020, at home. Born in New Britain, the son of the late Arthur and Elizabeth (Dillon) Harris, he was a lifelong resident.

At an early age, Archie joined his father and brothers in the family business, A. H. Harris and Sons, Inc., as Secretary and Partner, until his retirement in 1993. Archie's passions were his work, golfing with his numerous friends, playing gin rummy, entertaining at parties by playing the piano, his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. An avid golfer, Archie was a member of the Shuttle Meadow Country Club, a member emeritus of the Board of CT State Golf Association, Past President and member of the Junior-Senior Golfing Society of CT, and a member of the CT State Senior Golf Association. In addition to golf, he was a member of the Knights of Columbus, 3rd Degree and a lifetime member of the General Society of Mayflower Descendants.

Archie is survived by his wife of over 67 years Norma (Vance) Harris, their children, Vance and Sally Harris of Wethersfield, Suzie and Kevin McCabe of Berlin, Tricia Harris and Betty Bourret of Smithfield, RI, Paul and Ellen Harris of Unionville, Philip and Jenny Harris of Burlington, NC, and Amy and Peter Ponte of Beaufort, SC; 17 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter Therese Ann and three brothers, Robert E. Harris, Roderick R. Harris and Richard D. Harris. Funeral services will be private with burial in St. Mary Cemetery, New Britain.

     Hortense G. Clark was born in December 1841.¹ She married Theron N. Holcombe, son of Hermaz Holcombe II and Emily Latham, say 1868.¹ Hortense G. Clark died on 8 October 1917 at the Hartford Hospital, Hartford, Hartford Co., CT, at age 75.²

Mrs. Hortense Holcomb, 76 years old, wife of Theron M. Holcomb, died Monday at the Hartford Hospital, after a long illness. She lived at No. 100 Preston street. She leaves her husband, in this city, and two grandchildren, Elliott S. Holcomb and Robert N. Holcomb of Springfield, Mass. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 o’clock this afternoon at the Elm Grove Chapel, Elm Grove Cemetery, Poquonock.

     Leon Clark Holcombe lived at Longmeadow, Hampden Co., MA. He was born in March 1877 at CT. He was the son of Theron N. Holcombe and Hortense G. Clark. Leon Clark Holcombe married Grace V. Nichols on 8 January 1900.

     Letitia Johnson Dow was born on 16 September 1806 at Dublin, Ireland. She was the daughter of Lorenzo Dow and Margaret Holcombe. Letitia Johnson Dow died young at Warrington, Ireland.

     Ruth Rockwell was born in August 1633 at Dorchester, Suffolk Co., MA. She was the daughter of William Rockwell and Susanna Capen. Ruth Rockwell married Christopher Huntington, son of Simon Huntington and Margaret Barrett, on 7 October 1652.

     William Rockwell was born in 1591 at England.³ He married Susanna Capen, daughter of Bernard Capen and Joan Purchase, on 14 April 1624 at Dorchester, Dorset, England.³ William Rockwell died on 15 May 1640 at Windsor, Hartford Co., CT.³

     Susanna Capen was born on 5 April 1602 at England.¹ She was the daughter of Bernard Capen and Joan Purchase. Susanna Capen married William Rockwell on 14 April 1624 at Dorchester, Dorset, England.² Susanna Capen married Matthew Grant on 29 May 1645.¹ Susanna Capen died on 13 November 1666 at Windsor, CT, at age 64.¹

     John Capen was born on 26 January 1612 at probably Dorset, England.¹ He was the son of Bernard Capen and Joan Purchase. John Capen married Mary Bass on 20 September 1647 at Dorchester, Suffolk Co., MA.¹ John Capen died on 4 April 1692 at Dorchester, Suffolk Co., MA, at age 80.¹
