William Chester Case1

b. 26 February 1837
     William Chester Case was born on 26 February 1837 at Bloomfield, Hartford Co., CT.1 He was the son of Rev. Wiliam Case and Chloe Stoughton.1

William served as a private, Company H., 16th Regiment, Connecticut Volunteers. He enlisted 25 August 1862; mustered 25 August 1862; and was discharged with disability 16 June 1865. Given these dates, he must have served at Antietam.

     Albert Cook Loomis was born on 14 September 1843.1 He was the son of Chauncey Loomis and Prudence Cook.2 Albert Cook Loomis married Harriet Johnson on 17 May 1884.1

Albert was a private, Company K, 16th Regiment, Connecticut Volunteers. He enlisted 23 August, 1862, mustered 24 August 1862, and transferred out 20 February 1864.

Lt. Daniel Loomis1

b. 22 January 1758, d. 22 August 1841
     Lt. Daniel Loomis was born on 22 January 1758 at Lebanon, New London Co., CT.1 He was the son of Timothy Loomis and Anna Taylor.2 Lt. Daniel Loomis married Sarah Wells Field, daughter of Daniel Field and Sarah Wells, on 22 November 1774.1 Lt. Daniel Loomis died on 22 August 1841 at age 83.1

Dan served in the Revolutionary War, first under Capt. William Wilson, 1776, and Col. Israel Putnam. He was in the battles of Stillwater and Saratoga, being a witness of Burgoyne's surrender. In 1777 he re-enlisted in Co. of Light Horse under Capt. Joel Loomis.3
