     Aurelia Phelps was born on 22 January 1797 at probably Glanford, Upper Canada.^1,2 She was the daughter of Rev. Davenport Phelps and Catharine Tiffany.¹ Aurelia Phelps died on 3 October 1862 at unmarried at age 65.¹ Peter Judd cites Phelps and Servin but gives Aurelia the same birth date as Sarah, 4 Jul 1798; probably a typo.

     Sarah Phelps was born on 4 July 1798 at probably Glanford, Upper Canada.¹ She was the daughter of Rev. Davenport Phelps and Catharine Tiffany.¹ Sarah Phelps died in 1882 at Milwaukee, Waukesha Co, WI.¹

Sarah and Bennett reside at Sodus Point, NY, and later at Milwaukee, Wis; eleven children.

     Dean Wheelock Phelps was born on 14 October 1800 at probably Glanford, Upper Canada.¹ He was the son of Rev. Davenport Phelps and Catharine Tiffany.¹ Dean Wheelock Phelps died on 18 October 1804 at age 4.¹

     Joseph Augustus Phelps was born on 16 April 1804 at probably NY.¹ He was the son of Rev. Davenport Phelps and Catharine Tiffany.¹ Joseph Augustus Phelps married Sarah Ann Selby on 20 December 1833.¹ Joseph Augustus Phelps died on 23 March 1889 at age 84.¹

     Sarah Ann Selby was born on 26 June 1815.¹ She married Joseph Augustus Phelps, son of Rev. Davenport Phelps and Catharine Tiffany, on 20 December 1833.¹ Sarah Ann Selby died on 6 September 1854 at age 39.¹

     Henry Rodolphus Phelps was born on 1 February 1806 at probably NY.^1,2 He was the son of Rev. Davenport Phelps and Catharine Tiffany.^1,2 Henry Rodolphus Phelps married Martha Moses circa 1841 at Palmyra, Wayne Co, NY.¹ Henry Rodolphus Phelps died on 7 April 1887 at age 81.^1,2

     Martha Moses was born on 10 December 1820.¹ She married Henry Rodolphus Phelps, son of Rev. Davenport Phelps and Catharine Tiffany, circa 1841 at Palmyra, Wayne Co, NY.¹ Martha Moses died on 30 November 1873 at age 52.¹

     Edward Lewis Phelps was born on 15 November 1807 at probably Geneva, NY.¹ He was the son of Rev. Davenport Phelps and Catharine Tiffany.¹ Edward Lewis Phelps died on 7 October 1876 at unmarried at age 68.¹

     Eliza Phelps was born on 2 September 1794 at Stafford, Tolland Co., CT.¹ She was the daughter of Eleazar Wheelock Phelps and Phebe Phelps.¹ Eliza Phelps was CHURCH MEMBERSHIP on 6 May 1815 at Stafford Congregational Church, Stafford, Tolland Co., CT. She married Billings Grant, son of Miner Grant and Eunice Swift, on 21 April 1830 at New York City, NY.² Eliza Phelps died on 3 December 1866 at age 72.³

     Billings Grant was born on 1 March 1784.² He was the son of Miner Grant and Eunice Swift.³ Billings Grant married Eliza Phelps, daughter of Eleazar Wheelock Phelps and Phebe Phelps, on 21 April 1830 at New York City, NY.¹ Billings Grant died on 23 November 1861 at age 77.²

     Rev. William McMurry witnessed the marriage of Billings Grant and Eliza Phelps on 21 April 1830 at New York City, NY.¹

     Harriet Phelps was born on 7 August 1796 at Stafford, Tolland Co., CT.¹ She was the daughter of Eleazar Wheelock Phelps and Phebe Phelps.¹ Harriet Phelps was baptized on 23 October 1796 at Stafford, Tolland Co., CT. She was CHURCH MEMBERSHIP on 15 January 1815 at Stafford Congregational Church, Stafford, Tolland Co., CT. She died on 28 June 1876 at unmarried, Fairfield, CT, at age 79.¹

     Phebe Phelps was born on 8 March 1799 at Stafford, Tolland Co., CT.¹ She was the daughter of Eleazar Wheelock Phelps and Phebe Phelps.¹ Phebe Phelps was baptized on 23 June 1799 at Stafford Congregational Church, Stafford, Tolland Co., CT. She was CHURCH MEMBERSHIP on 2 July 1816 at Stafford Congregational Church, Stafford, Tolland Co., CT. She died on 19 July 1883 at unmarried, Fairfield, CT, at age 84.¹

     Emelia Phelps was baptized on 5 July 1801 at Stafford Congregational Church, Stafford, Tolland Co., CT. She was the daughter of Eleazar Wheelock Phelps and Phebe Phelps.¹ Emelia Phelps died on 26 December 1805 at Stafford, Tolland Co., CT, at age 4.¹

     George Alexander Phelps was born on 21 September 1803 at Stafford, Tolland Co., CT.¹ He was the son of Eleazar Wheelock Phelps and Phebe Phelps.¹ George Alexander Phelps was baptized on 9 October 1803 at Stafford Congregational Church, Stafford, Tolland Co., CT. He married Eliza Ayres on 8 September 1825 at New York City, NY.¹ George Alexander Phelps left a will on 1 May 1878. He died on 12 April 1880 at diabetes, Fairfield, CT, at age 76.¹ His estate was probated on 29 April 1880.

The surname Ayres is spelled "Ayers" in the directories, but it is "Ayres" in the Phelps family plot grave marker and in the estate papers.²

     Henry Davenport Phelps was born on 12 March 1810 at Stafford, Tolland Co., CT.¹ He was the son of Eleazar Wheelock Phelps and Phebe Phelps.¹ Henry Davenport Phelps died on 5 August 1875 at Fairfield, Fairfield Co., CT, at age 65.

Susan is possibly the child of Eliza P(helps?) Smilye, cited as "niece" in the woll of George Alexander Phelps.²

     Eliza Ayres was also known as Eliza Ayers. She was born on 6 November 1808 at Williamsport, PA.¹ She married George Alexander Phelps, son of Eleazar Wheelock Phelps and Phebe Phelps, on 8 September 1825 at New York City, NY.¹ Eliza Ayres died on 2 September 1880 at Allston, MA, at age 71.¹

     Julia Maria Phelps was born on 13 July 1826 at New York City, NY.¹ She was the daughter of George Alexander Phelps and Eliza Ayres.¹ Julia Maria Phelps married Royal Winter on 5 January 1853 at Hartford, Hartford Co., CT.¹ Julia Maria Phelps died on 13 March 1899 at Newton, Middlesex Co., MA, at age 72.¹

     Jenna Louise Hawkins was born on 24 July 1919 at Little Rock, Pulaski Co., AR. She married Harold Bruce Welch, son of Mark Anthony Welch and Marie Lula Lane, on 29 January 1944.

     Royal Winter was born on 26 April 1818 at Croydon, NH.¹ He married Julia Maria Phelps, daughter of George Alexander Phelps and Eliza Ayres, on 5 January 1853 at Hartford, Hartford Co., CT.¹ Royal Winter died on 22 February 1888 at Newton, Middlesex Co., MA, at age 69.¹

     Eliza Phelps Winter was born on 8 May 1854 at Fairfield, Fairfield Co., CT.¹ She was the daughter of Royal Winter and Julia Maria Phelps.¹ Eliza Phelps Winter married James Taylor Wetherald on 10 October 1889 at Grace Church, Boston, Suffolk Co., MA.¹ Eliza Phelps Winter died on 6 February 1924 at Pasadena, Los Angeles Co., CA, at age 69.¹

     James Taylor Wetherald was born on 5 October 1858 at Richmond, IN.¹ He married Eliza Phelps Winter, daughter of Royal Winter and Julia Maria Phelps, on 10 October 1889 at Grace Church, Boston, Suffolk Co., MA.¹ James Taylor Wetherald died on 25 June 1927 at Pasadena, Los Angeles Co., CA, at age 68.¹

     Emma Winter was born on 17 June 1864 at Boston, Suffolk Co., MA.¹ She was the daughter of Royal Winter and Julia Maria Phelps.¹

     Caroline Eliza Phelps was born on 13 September 1828 at New York City, NY.¹ She was the daughter of George Alexander Phelps and Eliza Ayres.¹ Caroline Eliza Phelps married James Demarest Haring, son of Samuel Haring and Sarah Clark, on 1 September 1846 at Fairfield, Fairfield Co., CT. Caroline Eliza Phelps died on 21 October 1868 at 209 West Fourteenth Street, New York City, NY, at age 40.¹

     Timothy Phelps was born circa 1757 at Stafford Springs, CT.¹ He was the son of Judge John Phelps and Mary Richardson.² Timothy Phelps married Janet Broome circa 1794.³

     Janet Broome was born in 1774 at New Haven, New Haven Co., CT.¹ She married Timothy Phelps, son of Judge John Phelps and Mary Richardson, circa 1794.¹ Janet Broome died on 25 April 1802 at New Haven, New Haven Co., CT.¹

     Judge John Phelps was born in 1736 at Suffield, Hartford Co., CT.¹ He was the son of Capt. Timothy Phelps and Abigail Merrick.

     Deacon Judah Phelps was born circa 1754 at Turkey Hills, Hartford Co., CT.¹ He was the son of Elijah Phelps and Esther Kent.

     Amos Phelps was born on 30 May 1736 at Hebron, Tolland Co., CT.¹ He was the son of John Phelps and Anna Hosford. Amos Phelps married Anna Filer, daughter of Samuel Filer and Anna Burnham, on 5 May 1757.² Amos Phelps died in 1800 at Hebron, Tolland Co., CT.¹

     Anna Filer was born on 28 December 1736 at Hebron, Tolland Co., CT.¹ She was the daughter of Samuel Filer and Anna Burnham. Anna Filer married Amos Phelps, son of John Phelps and Anna Hosford, on 5 May 1757.¹ Anna Filer died in 1818 at Hebron, Tolland Co., CT.¹

     Harriet Augusta Phelps was born on 6 October 1830 at New York City, NY.¹ She was the daughter of George Alexander Phelps and Eliza Ayres.¹ Harriet Augusta Phelps died on 12 February 1913 at Boston, Suffolk Co., MA, at age 82.¹

     Thomas Reese Brooke was born on 4 January 1855. He was the son of Thomas Reese Brooke and Harriet Augusta Phelps.

     Emma Ayres Phelps was born on 19 September 1832 at New York City, NY.¹ She was the daughter of George Alexander Phelps and Eliza Ayres.¹ Emma Ayres Phelps died on 23 January 1855 at age 22.¹

     George Alexander Phelps Jr. was born on 24 July 1834 at New York City, NY.¹ He was the son of George Alexander Phelps and Eliza Ayres.¹ George Alexander Phelps Jr. married Helen Clark, daughter of William Clark and Mary Bogart, on 3 January 1855 at New York City, NY.¹ George Alexander Phelps Jr. died on 28 April 1914 at Fairfield Co., CT, at age 79.¹

On 3 April 1855 George became a partner in Chamberlain & Phelps (Predecessor to Phelps Brothers & Co.), New York. He represented the firm in Palermo from about 1858 to about 1864 and in Liverpool from 1859 to after 1878. In 1872 the office was at the Old Castle Buildings, 26 Preesons Rwo W., and his residence, in 1873, at Sunnyside, Devonshire Road, Princes Park. George's will required cremation without religious services. From his estate valued at $80,000 his daughter, Mrs. Helen Ackerly of England, was bequeathed $40,000.²

     Helen Clark was born on 28 May 1834.¹ She was the daughter of William Clark and Mary Bogart. Helen Clark married George Alexander Phelps Jr., son of George Alexander Phelps and Eliza Ayres, on 3 January 1855 at New York City, NY.¹
