     Harris Merrill Barber was also known as Harris Merrill Barbour. He was born on 6 September 1884.¹ He was the son of Rev. Thomas Seymour Barber and Emma J. White.¹

Harris graduated like his father from Brown University, in 1906, and from Newton Theological School in 1909. Harris became a Baptist minister, with a pastorate in Arlington Heights, MA. He was mainly interested in academic work, and was a college professor of History and Philosophy at Brown University, 1911-1913, at Milton College in Wisconsin, 1913-1921, and at Ripon College, also in Wisconsin, from 1922 on.²

     Rev. Clarence Augustus Barber was also known as Rev. Clarence Augustus Barbour. He was born on 21 April 1867.¹ He was the son of Judge Heman Humphrey Barber and Almira Ann Barker.¹

Clarence graduated from Brown University in Providence, RI, in 1888, where he was the Class Orator, and elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He then graduated from Rochester Theological Seminary in Rochester, NY, in 1891. He received a Doctor of Divinity Degree in 1901. He was after that Pastor of the Lake Avenue Baptist Church in Rochester from 1891 to 1909. The church grew and flourished while he was there. He was the secretary of the International Committee of the YMCA, 1915-1929. He was the president and a professor at Colgate-Rochester Divinity School, 1915-1929. He became the 10th president of Brown University in 1929, and lived in Providence. He was a Trustee of Peddie School, and of Worchester Academy. He attained the 33rd degree in Masonry.

     John Baptiste Barber was also known as John Baptiste Barbour. He was born on 24 June 1869.¹ He was the son of Judge Heman Humphrey Barber and Almira Ann Barker.¹

John graduated from Brown University in 1891, and went into business in Batavia, NY, from 1891 to 1893. He then resumed his education, and graduated from Rochester Theological Seminary in Rochester, NY, in 1896. He was a Baptist minister and held pastorates at First Church in Geneva, NY, 1896-1897, First Church of Syracuse, 1897-1900, the First Church of Mumford, NY, 1900 to 1905, the Calvary Church, Erie, PA, 1906 to 1914. Then he became a representative for the Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Co.. of Rochester, from 1914 on. He was an ardent worker in the field of temperance. He was especially strong among the young people.²

     Edith Gertrude Barber was also known as Edith Gertrude Barbour. She was born on 15 March 1874.¹ She was the daughter of Judge Heman Humphrey Barber and Almira Ann Barker.¹ Edith Gertrude Barber died on 23 October 1874.¹

     Pamela J. Bartholemew was born on 28 December 1827 at Sheffield, Berkshire Co., MA.¹ She was the daughter of John Morse Bartholemew and Pauline Fuller. Pamela J. Bartholemew married Judge Henry Stiles Barber, son of Henry Barber and Naomi Humphrey, on 25 November 1851.¹ Pamela J. Bartholemew died on 27 August 1899 at Hartford, Hartford Co., CT, at age 71.¹
