     Esther Meacham was born on 19 July 1725.¹ She was the daughter of Rev. Joseph Meacham and Esther Williams.¹ Esther Meacham married Rev. Nathan Strong, son of Elnathan Strong and Patience Jenner, on 12 October 1746.¹ Esther Meacham died on 19 October 1793 at age 68.¹

     Rev. Eleazar Mather was born on 13 May 1637 at Dorchester, Suffolk Co., MA. He married Hester Warham, daughter of Rev. John Warham and Jane (?), on 29 September 1659 at Windsor, Hartford Co., CT.¹ Rev. Eleazar Mather died on 24 July 1669 at Northampton, Hampshire Co., MA, at age 32.

     Rev. Nathan Strong D.D. was born on 5 October 1748.¹ He was the son of Rev. Nathan Strong and Esther Meacham.¹ Rev. Nathan Strong D.D. married Anne Smith, daughter of Dr. Solomon Smith and Ann Talcott, on 20 November 1777.¹ Rev. Nathan Strong D.D. married Anna McCurdy.¹ Rev. Nathan Strong D.D. died on 25 December 1816 at age 68.¹

Nathan graduated at Yale in 1769, ordained pastor of the First church in Hartford, Ct., January 5, 1774, chaplain in the army of the Revolution. He was a tutor at Yale (1772-3). He was settled on a salary of but £130, which was so poorly paid (as poor salaries usually are), that in a few years his people were in debt to him to the amount of £600. He invested a portion of the estate left him by his father in 1795, in a mercantile establishment which came to a disastrous end, and thus suffered much in a pecuniary way for many years. He was an earnest revival preacher, and was several times blessed with large ingatherings into his church. He published several sermons separately from time to time and two volumes of sermons (the first in 1798, and the second in 1800), designed to give aid and direction in revival efforts. He projected and sustained "The Connecticut Evangelical Magazine" continued through 15 years, a work highly prized. He was the chief founder also of "The Conn. Mss. society," and was its principal manager for several years (1798-1806). In 1796, he published a theological work entitled "The Doctrine of Eternal Misery consistent with the Infinite Benevolence of God."

After the death of his second wife he remained for the rest of his live (27 years) a widower. He was a man of very original powers of mind, great self-command, unbounded industry, wide erudition and retentive memory, a man of the first class in all respects. While a man of such superior intellect he was also full of fervor both in his pulpit and in his pastoral work. His sermons were short, but clear and pithy, and he had great facility in extemporizing. He was tall and straight, a man of dark complexion with an impressive eye and striking features, and was full of humor and all but uncontrollable wit at times. Work was but pastime to him. He died in the 43rd year of his ministry.²

     Anne Smith was born in 1759.¹ She was the daughter of Dr. Solomon Smith and Ann Talcott. Anne Smith married Rev. Nathan Strong D.D., son of Rev. Nathan Strong and Esther Meacham, on 20 November 1777.¹ Anne Smith died on 17 October 1784.¹

     Dr. Solomon Smith was born in 1734. He married Ann Talcott in 1756. Dr. Solomon Smith died on 23 April 1786.

     Ann Talcott was born on 1 April 1735. She married Dr. Solomon Smith in 1756.

     Anna McCurdy was born in 1760.¹ She married Rev. Nathan Strong D.D., son of Rev. Nathan Strong and Esther Meacham.¹ Anna McCurdy died on 22 March 1789.¹

     Anne Smith Strong was born on 10 September 1778.¹ She was the daughter of Rev. Nathan Strong D.D. and Anne Smith.¹ Anne Smith Strong married Rev. David Lord Perry, son of Rev. David Perry and Jerusha Lord, in May 1805.¹ Anne Smith Strong died in October 1840 at Sharon, CT, at age 62.¹

     Rev. David Lord Perry was born on 21 June 1777 at Harwinton, Litchfield Co., CT.¹ He was the son of Rev. David Perry and Jerusha Lord.¹ Rev. David Lord Perry married Anne Smith Strong, daughter of Rev. Nathan Strong D.D. and Anne Smith, in May 1805.¹ Rev. David Lord Perry died on 25 October 1835 at Sharon, Litchfield Co., CT, at age 58; of apoplexy.¹

     Catharine Lord Perry was born on 17 June 1813.¹ She was the daughter of Rev. David Lord Perry and Anne Smith Strong.¹ Catharine Lord Perry died on 16 June 1895 at Wallingford, New Haven Co., CT, at age 81.²

     Alice Florence Merriman was also known as Alice Frederica Merriman.¹ She was born on 7 August 1843 at Litchfield, Litchfield Co., CT. She was the daughter of Dr. Reuben B. Merriman and Catharine Lord Perry. Alice Florence Merriman married Col. Benjamin Roach Townsend, son of Nathaniel Townsend and Dorcus Gardner.¹ Alice Florence Merriman died on 24 September 1915 at Wallingford, New Haven Co., CT, at age 72.¹

     Col. Benjamin Roach Townsend was born on 27 November 1838 at New Orleans, LA.¹ He was the son of Nathaniel Townsend and Dorcus Gardner. Col. Benjamin Roach Townsend married Alice Florence Merriman, daughter of Dr. Reuben B. Merriman and Catharine Lord Perry.¹ Col. Benjamin Roach Townsend died on 8 September 1902 at Index, Snohomish, WA, at age 63.¹

     Edward Benjamin Townsend was born on 7 November 1874 at Austin, Travis Co., TX.¹ He was the son of Col. Benjamin Roach Townsend and Alice Florence Merriman.¹ Edward Benjamin Townsend married Lilian Kirby Melick on 6 November 1920 at Plainfield, NJ.¹ Edward Benjamin Townsend died on 29 October 1964 at Whipple, AZ, at age 89.¹

     Lilian Kirby Melick was born on 22 July 1886 at Bayonne, NJ.¹ She married Edward Benjamin Townsend, son of Col. Benjamin Roach Townsend and Alice Florence Merriman, on 6 November 1920 at Plainfield, NJ.¹ Lilian Kirby Melick died on 20 March 1956 at Casa Grande, AZ, at age 69.¹

     Edward Melick Townsend was born on 27 October 1924 at Wallingford, New Haven Co., CT.^1,2 He was the son of Edward Benjamin Townsend and Lilian Kirby Melick.¹ Edward Melick Townsend married Grace Monica Anderson in July 1964 at Eatontown, NJ.¹ Edward Melick Townsend died on 20 October 1995 at Houston, Harris Co., TX, at age 70.^1,2 He was buried at National Cemetery, North Houston, TX.¹

Edward was a B-29 pilot in the Pacific during WWII as a 2nd Lieutenant and shortly after his training he was promoted to 1st Lieutenant in the Army Air Force. He attended MIT in Boston, receiving his BS in chemical Engineering.¹

Edward's three daughters, Lynn, Laura, and Leslie, have all inherited severe medical problems. Benjamin Roach Townsend's brother, Hasley, had the same symptoms as Leslie.

Lynn has MS with arthritis, fribromyralgia, allergies, asthma, and deteriorating neck and back disk problems.

Laura has Lupus with fribromyralgia.

Leslie has StiffMans Syndrome, fribromyralgia and allergies.

     Harry Gregory Terzian was also known as Harry Gregory Taylor. He was born on 26 August 1913 at Englewood, NJ.¹ He died on 22 April 1986 at Charlottesville, VA, at age 72.¹

     Cecelia Louise Townsend was born on 2 July 1923.¹ She was the daughter of Edward Benjamin Townsend and Lilian Kirby Melick.¹ Cecelia Louise Townsend died in 1929; complications from a tonsillectomy.¹

     Grace Monica Anderson married Edward Melick Townsend, son of Edward Benjamin Townsend and Lilian Kirby Melick, in July 1964 at Eatontown, NJ.¹ Grace Monica Anderson died in March 1999 at Houston, TX.¹ She was buried at National Cemetery, North Houston, TX.¹
