     McPherson does not name a wife, but notes that Wellington had three daughters in addition to son Harry. Wellington Holcombe was born at Ulster, Bradford Co., PA. He was the son of Samuel Benedict Holcombe and Maria Alexander.

     Catherine Holcombe was born at Ulster, Bradford Co., PA. She was the daughter of Samuel Benedict Holcombe and Maria Alexander.

     Eloise Holcombe was born circa 1851 at PA.¹ She was the daughter of William B. Holcombe and Louisa (?)

     Fred Holcombe was born circa 1859 at PA. He was the son of Orlando Holcombe and Fidelia (?)

     Lura Cook was born on 28 August 1801.² She was the daughter of Benjamin Cook and Mary Alderman. Lura Cook married Jesse McKenzie Alderman, son of Timothy Alderman and Tabitha Phelps, on 18 October 1817.¹ Lura Cook died on 10 August 1895 at age 93.²

     Jida Stultz was born on 10 May 1842 at Champaign, IL. She married Orlando Holcombe, son of Samuel Benedict Holcombe and Maria Alexander, in April 1872 at Orango, Jasper Co., MO. Jida Stultz died on 16 June 1896 at age 54.

     Birt was a farmer, Avilla, Jasper Co., MO, lead and zinc miner, retail oil dealer, served as a soldier in Co., G, 5th MO vol. Regt, Capt. robert Elliot for several months in the Spanish-American War and in the Phillipine Islands. Birt and Alta had one child who died in infancy. Birt Holcombe was born on 20 January 1873 at Orango, Jasper Co., MO. He was the son of Orlando Holcombe and Jida Stultz.

     Louis was a farmer, miner, RR worker, implement salesman in hardware store and field for 15 years. Lived in Clayton, New Mexico. Louis Holcombe was born on 30 January 1876 at Orango, Jasper Co., MO. He was the son of Orlando Holcombe and Jida Stultz. Louis Holcombe married Senia Brotherton on 26 December 1907 at Carthage, Jasper Co., MO.

     Dora Holcombe was born at Orango, Jasper Co., MO. She was the daughter of Orlando Holcombe and Jida Stultz. Dora Holcombe died on 16 July 1878.

     Jida Holcombe was born on 1 June 1882 at Breeze, Jasper Co., MO. She was the daughter of Orlando Holcombe and Jida Stultz. Jida Holcombe married Harry L. Herman on 24 January 1933.

     James H. Holcombe was born on 25 November 1884 at Breeze, Jasper Co., MO. He was the son of Orlando Holcombe and Jida Stultz. James H. Holcombe married Eva May Berry, daughter of William Monroe Berry and Barbara Ellen Root, on 13 September 1909 at Enid, Garfield Co., OK.

James was a farmer and miner, moved in 1912 to a Government claim of land in New Mexico which he proved; became a truck-farmer; worked with surveyors as Governmant trail blazer and as foreman of a CCC camp.


James and Eva were enumerated in the 1920 Artesia, Graham Co., AZ, federal census, ED 15. He was a farmer age 36, she was 36. The only child in the household was James E. 3.


James and Eva were enumerated in the 1930 Stafford, Graham Co., AZ, federal census, district 2. He was a carpenter age 46, she was 46. The only child in the household was James E. 13.

     George Herbert Holcombe was born on 10 March 1886 at Breeze, Jasper Co., MO. He was the son of Orlando Holcombe and Jida Stultz. George Herbert Holcombe married Cora May York on 7 January 1911 at Carthage, Jasper Co., MO. George Herbert Holcombe died in June 1965 at age 79.²

     Maudy Holcombe died young. She was born on 20 October 1890 at Breeze, Jasper Co., MO. She was the daughter of Orlando Holcombe and Jida Stultz.

     Clinton DeWitt Holcombe was born on 16 September 1879. He was the son of Samuel Donner Holcombe and Susan Anna Lacock. Clinton DeWitt Holcombe died on 14 January 1962 at Kensington, KS, at age 82.

     Thomas Holcombe was the son of Edward A. Holcombe and Lucinda Thomas.

     Mary Elizabeth Goodrich was born on 26 October 1818 at Hartford, Hartford Co., CT. She was the daughter of Samuel Griswold Goodrich and Adeline Grata Bradley.¹ Mary Elizabeth Goodrich married Charles Mosely Wolcott, son of Frederick Wolcott and Sarah Worthington Goodrich, on 1 November 1843.¹ Mary Elizabeth Goodrich died on 13 December 1845 at Philadelphia, PA, at age 27.

     Frederick Wolcott was born on 2 November 1767 at Litchfield, Litchfield Co., CT.^3,4 He was the son of Gov. Oliver Wolcott and Laura Collins. Frederick Wolcott married Elizabeth Huntington, daughter of Col. Joshua Huntington and Hannah Huntington, on 12 October 1800 at Norwich, New London Co., CT.⁵ Frederick Wolcott married Sarah Worthington Goodrich, daughter of Rev. Samuel Goodrich and Elizabeth Ely, on 21 June 1815 at Berlin, Hartford Co., CT.⁶ Frederick Wolcott died on 28 May 1837 at Litchfield, Litchfield Co., CT, at age 69.³
