     Lucius Homer Barton married Nellie McFeeters. Lucius Homer Barton was born on 30 July 1891. He was the son of Francis J. Barton and Orra Lorena Holcombe.

     Onah Waunetta Barton was born on 30 August 1894. She was the daughter of Francis J. Barton and Orra Lorena Holcombe.

     Nellie McFeeters married Lucius Homer Barton, son of Francis J. Barton and Orra Lorena Holcombe. Nellie McFeeters was born on 3 May 1891. She died in 1943 at Conneautville, Crawford Co., PA.

     Katherine Hoskins was born on 8 July 1874. She married Charles William Holcombe, son of Dr. Henry C. Holcombe and Mary Janet Simpkins.

     Paul Henry Holcombe was born on 14 October 1899 at Pierpont, Ashtabula Co., OH.¹ He was the son of Charles William Holcombe and Katherine Hoskins. Paul Henry Holcombe died in February 1977 at Tucson, Pima Co., AZ, at age 77.²

Paul had one daughter. When he applied for his social Security Account Number on 8 February 1940, he wa employeed by the Mifflin Twp. School, Simsbury Road, Columbus, OH, and lived at 109 W. 8th Ave, Columbus.

     Killed by lightning. Fern Carlysle Holcombe was born on 5 October 1901. She was the daughter of Charles William Holcombe and Katherine Hoskins.

     Frances married and had one son and one daughter. Frances Elizabeth Holcombe was born on 1 April 1902. She was the daughter of Charles William Holcombe and Katherine Hoskins.

     Florence married and had one son. Florence Ruth Holcombe was the daughter of Charles William Holcombe and Katherine Hoskins.

     Marie married and had no children. Marie Holcombe was the daughter of Charles William Holcombe and Katherine Hoskins.

     Martha Holcombe was the daughter of Charles William Holcombe and Katherine Hoskins.

     Dorothy marrien and had no children. Dorothy Holcombe was the daughter of Charles William Holcombe and Katherine Hoskins.

     Walter C. Barton was born on 6 July 1878 at Crawford Co., PA. He married Mable Calendene Holcombe, daughter of Dr. Henry C. Holcombe and Mary Janet Simpkins, on 12 September 1901.

     Owen married and had no children as of the writing of the McPherson book. Owen Walter Barton was born on 15 August 1902. He was the son of Walter C. Barton and Mable Calendene Holcombe.

     Homer married and had three children. Homer Carlysle Barton was born on 5 October 1905. He was the son of Walter C. Barton and Mable Calendene Holcombe.

     Grant graduated from college June 1942. Grant Robert Carlysle Holcombe was born on 15 June 1917. He was the son of Carlysle Henry Holcombe and Gertrude Whelpley.

     Betsy Gatch was also known as Betsy Hatch. She was born at PA. She married Timothy Holcombe, son of Amasa Holcombe and Lois Heath.¹

     Orrin Holcombe was born on 8 July 1801 at NY.^2,3 He was the son of Timothy Holcombe and Betsy Gatch.³ Orrin Holcombe married Rhoda Knowton in 1825 at New Lyme, Ashtabula Co., OH.

Orrin is recorded in the 1850 census of new Lyme, district #8, Ashtabula Co., OH, as a mason.

Orrin and Rhoda were enumerated in the 1850 New Lyme, Ashtabula Co., OH, federal census. He was a mason age 49 she was 43. Children in the household were Ephraim 15, Miles 9, Mark 7, and Orrin 5.

O. and Rhoda were enumerated in the 1860 New Lyme, Ashtabula Co., OH, federal census with brother George and parents Timothy and Betsy. He was a farmer age 59, she was 53. Children in the household were Miles 19, Mark 17, O. Jr. 15, J. K Bratton 33, Clarissa H. Bratton 26, Hulda Bratton 9, and Rhoda Bratton 1.

     Rhoda Knowton was born at MA. She married Orrin Holcombe, son of Timothy Holcombe and Betsy Gatch, in 1825 at New Lyme, Ashtabula Co., OH.

Perhaps the daughter of Ephraim Knowlton who was enumerated in 1850 in New Lyme.

     William Holcombe was born in September 1826 at New Lyme, Ashtabula Co., OH.² He was the son of Orrin Holcombe and Rhoda Knowton. William Holcombe married Statirah H. Treat, daughter of Roland Treat and Malinda Cole, on 31 December 1847.

William and Statrah were enumerated in the 1850 New Lyme, Ashtabula Co., OH, federal census. He was a laborer age 24, she was 18. There were no children enumerated.³

William is recorded in the 1850 and 1870 censuses of New Lyme, District #8, Ashtabula Co., OH as a workman; lived at Cedar Rapids, IA in 1890 in the home of his brother, Ethan Allen Holcombe.

William had a third marriage recorded to Laura Thompson on September 25, 1899 when he was 73 in Iowa.³

     Ora Holcombe was born circa 1830 at New Lyme, Ashtabula Co., OH.¹ He was the son of Orrin Holcombe and Rhoda Knowton. Ora Holcombe married Thankful Chandler.

Ora and Thankful were enumerated in teh 1850 New Lyme, Ashtabula Co. OH, federal census. He was a mason age 20, she was 21. The only child in the household was J. Elmore, 10 months.²

Ora is recorded in the 1860 census of Orwell, Ashtabula Co., OH as a mason. The spelling of his daughter's name is not clear.

     Ethan Allen Holcombe was born on 5 November 1831 at New Lyme, Ashtabula Co., OH.^1,2 He was the son of Orrin Holcombe and Rhoda Knowton. Ethan Allen Holcombe married Alice Carmen on 2 October 1862 at Chariton, MO.³ Ethan Allen Holcombe married Martha Price.² Ethan Allen Holcombe died on 31 March 1901 at Linn Co., IA, at age 69.² He was buried at Oak Hill Cemetery, Cedar Rapids, Linn Co., IA.²

Ethan Allen, living in Cedar Rapids, IA, 1890-1892, furnished information of his Holcomb ancestry and kin.

From an unsourced obituary on FindAGrave:

Ethan Allen Holcomb, better known in life as "Squire Holcomb," one of the older lawyers of the city, passed away at the home of his son, four miles west of the city, Sunday night. Mr. Holcomb has been practically an invalid for several years. A great weight of sorrow and trouble had completely shattered the active and vigorous man of former years and he had patiently awaited the relief which came to him, since the death of his loving wife who passed away four years ago.

Ethan Allen Holcomb was born at Cherry Valley, Ohio, November 6, 1831. He entered the law here and later removed to Keathsville, Mo., where he continued to practice his profession for eighteen ears, afterward removing with his family to Cedar Rapids. He became a member of the Linn County Bar association and will be long remembered here as one of the best counsels and authorities on law in the city.

This family has been singularly afflicted. The memory of his daughter Burton and son Orrin are always fresh in the minds of the many friends who delighted in the exhibitions of their rare accomplishments in music and in their lovable companionship. Their loss was an affliction to all, but to none came the blow so severely as to their parents. The mother soon joined her children under the weight of sorrow and this final loss left Mr. Holcomb shattered in mind and body. He then took up his residence with his remaining son, Marshall, and the two last years of his life have been spent in a delightful spot a few miles above the city on a high hill overlooking the Cedar river.

A daughter, Patsy Jane, and a son, Marshall, are left to mourn their loss. Besides the children there are two brothers, William and Ephraim, both residents of this city, and two brothers and a sister residing in Keathsville, Mo. Miss Patsy is at present living with her aunt in Keathsville and will be unable to be in attendance at the funeral of her father.

There will be no funeral services at the house, but the funeral party will leave the country home at 10 o'clock tomorrow morning and upon arrival at Oak Hill cemetery, short services will be held before interment. Rev. Dr. E. R. Burkhalter will officiate.

     Ephraim Holcombe was born at New Lyme, Ashtabula Co., OH.² He was the son of Orrin Holcombe and Rhoda Knowton. Ephraim is recorded in the 1860 and 1870 censuses of New Lym, Ashtabula Co., OH as a farmer, owning real estate, $3,500 and personal $500.

     Mark Holcombe was born at New Lyme, Ashtabula Co., OH.¹ He was the son of Orrin Holcombe and Rhoda Knowton.

     For some reason, McPherson references us to another Orrin, A-4-5-7-7-2-2, who was in Orleans Co., NY. She was perhaps concerned about confusing the two families? Orrin Holcombe II was born at New Lyme, Ashtabula Co., OH.¹ He was the son of Orrin Holcombe and Rhoda Knowton.

     Statirah H. Treat was born on 16 November 1831. She was the daughter of Roland Treat and Malinda Cole. Statirah H. Treat married William Holcombe, son of Orrin Holcombe and Rhoda Knowton, on 31 December 1847.

     Thankful Chandler was born circa 1831 at OH. She married Ora Holcombe, son of Orrin Holcombe and Rhoda Knowton.

     J. Elmore Holcombe was born circa 1849. He was the son of Ora Holcombe and Thankful Chandler.¹

     Charles Holcombe was born at OH. He was the son of Ephraim Holcombe and Elizabeth (?)

     Orrin E. Holcombe was born at OH. He was the son of Ephraim Holcombe and Elizabeth (?)

     Bird Holcombe was born at OH. He was the son of Ephraim Holcombe and Elizabeth (?)

     James Halliwell was born on 13 March 1715 at Sprouston, Roxburghshire, Scotland. He married Agnes Turnbull.

     Esther Stone was born in 1785. She married Riley Holcombe, son of Amasa Holcombe and Lois Heath. Esther Stone died on 11 January 1841.

     Lewis Holcombe was born at Sheldon, Wyoming Co., NY. He was the son of Riley Holcombe and Esther Stone.

     Roswell moved from Sheldon, Wyomning Co., NY to Genesse Co., NY where he died. Roswell Holcombe was born at Sheldon, Wyoming Co., NY. He was the son of Riley Holcombe and Esther Stone.

     Emeline and Franklin moved to Terryville, Litchfield Co., CT where she had Holcomb relatives. Emeline Holcombe was born at Sheldon, Wyoming Co., NY. She was the daughter of Riley Holcombe and Esther Stone.

     Randolph is recorded in the 1860 census of Fox, Davis Co., IA, with family, a farmer. Randolph Holcombe was the son of Riley Holcombe and Esther Stone.

     Clara Holcombe was born at Sheldon, Wyoming Co., NY. She was the daughter of Riley Holcombe and Esther Stone.

     John Mortimer Holcombe was born at Sheldon, Wyoming Co., NY. He was the son of Riley Holcombe and Esther Stone.

     Moved to Indiana. Caroline Holcombe was born at Sheldon, Wyoming Co., NY. She was the daughter of Riley Holcombe and Esther Stone.
