Mary B. Holcomb, 92, of Deford, died Sunday, Dec. 9,2007 at St. Mary‘s of Michigan Hospital, Saginaw.

She was born April 16, 1915 in Fayette, Mo., the daughter of the late William and Pearl (Mullins)Vier.

She married Gordon Holcomb Feb.24, 1945 in Detroit. Holcomb taught Sunday school. She was a 4-H leader and was a member of the Novesta Church of Christ.

Holcomb is survived by her husband Gordon; children: Sandra Miller of Oxford, Franklin Holcomb and Patricia (Alan) Peters, both of Deford;10 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; and 2 sisters: Glenna Nesbitt and Donna Lee Bleu, both of Mo. She was preceded in death by brothers: Clayton Tyler, Kermit, Herbert and Harold Patton; and a sister, Bertha Fenters.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Dec. 13, at Novesta Church of Christ, Cass City, with Chuck Emmert officiating. Burial was in the Novesta Township Cemetery, Cass City. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice. Arrangements were made by Thabet Funeral Home, Cass City.

     Fred Augustus Brooks married Cora Edith Holcombe, daughter of Samuel Moses Holcombe and Elizabeth Ann Smith.¹

     Vivian A. Holcombe was born on 14 March 1924.¹ She was the daughter of William Lyman Holcombe and Catharine M. Gilles.¹ Vivian A. Holcombe died on 1 June 1927 at Detroit, Wayne Co., MI, at age 3; from burns from falling in hot water.¹ She was buried at Novesta Township Cemetery, Cass City, Tuscola Co., MI.²

     Smith Eugene Holcombe was also known as Eugene Holcomb. He was born on 12 August 1891.¹ He was the son of Samuel Moses Holcombe and Elizabeth Ann Smith.¹ Smith Eugene Holcombe married Margaret Blanche Thornthwaite.¹ Smith Eugene Holcombe died on 30 December 1950 at age 59.¹

     Betty Ann Mattison married Herbert A. Holcombe, son of William Lyman Holcombe and Catharine M. Gilles, on 19 August 1943 at Farmington, Oakland Co., MI.^1,2

     Marion Louise O'Bryan was born on 23 November 1930 at Detroit, Wayne Co., MI.¹ She married William Lyman Holcombe Jr., son of William Lyman Holcombe and Catharine M. Gilles, on 18 August 1951 at Detroit, Wayne Co., MI.¹ Marion Louise O'Bryan died on 11 June 2020 at Livonia, Wayne Co., MI, at age 89.
