Mary Examia Mills married Lucian Benajah Case, son of Bera Case and Sarah Humphrey, on 30 May 1839 at Canton, Hartford Co., CT. Mary Examia Mills died on 6 April 1883 at Canton, Hartford Co., CT. She was buried at Canton Center, CT.

     Anson Walter Case was born on 15 December 1846 at Canton, Hartford Co., CT. He was the son of Lucian Benajah Case and Mary Examia Mills. Anson Walter Case was baptized on 5 November 1847 at Congregationalist; First Congregational Church, Canton, Hartford Co., CT. He married Fannie Almira Brown, daughter of John Brown and Laura Lucinda Case, on 18 June 1868 at Canton, Hartford Co., CT. Anson Walter Case died on 28 December 1925 at Canton, Hartford Co., CT, at age 79.

     Francis Henry Case was the son of Lucian Benajah Case and Mary Examia Mills.

     Norman Case was born on 27 January 1793 at Barkhamsted, Litchfield Co., CT. He was the son of Eli Case Jr. and Hannah Alvord. Norman Case married Almira Woodruff, daughter of Ezekiel Woodruff and Huldah Clark, on 25 August 1815 at Cheshire, CT. Norman Case died on 19 September 1865 at Canton, Hartford Co., CT, at age 72. He was buried at Canton Center, CT.

     Hannah Case was born on 4 November 1794 at Barkhamsted, Litchfield Co., CT. She was the daughter of Eli Case Jr. and Hannah Alvord.

     Eli Case III was the son of Eli Case Jr. and Hannah Alvord.

     Almira Woodruff was the daughter of Ezekiel Woodruff and Huldah Clark. Almira Woodruff married Norman Case, son of Eli Case Jr. and Hannah Alvord, on 25 August 1815 at Cheshire, CT. Almira Woodruff died on 23 March 1831 at Canton, Hartford Co., CT. She was buried at Canton Center, CT.

     Laura Lucinda Case was born on 23 February 1824 at Canton, Hartford Co., CT. She was the daughter of Norman Case and Almira Woodruff. Laura Lucinda Case married John Brown, son of Abiel Brown and Anna Lord, on 1 November 1843 at First Congregational Church, Canton, Hartford Co., CT. Laura Lucinda Case died on 25 June 1905 at Collinsville, Hartford Co., CT, at age 81.

     John Brown was born on 6 June 1812. He was the son of Abiel Brown and Anna Lord. John Brown married Laura Lucinda Case, daughter of Norman Case and Almira Woodruff, on 1 November 1843 at First Congregational Church, Canton, Hartford Co., CT. John Brown died on 4 February 1886 at age 73.

     Anna Lord was born in 1788 at Lyme, New London Co., CT. She was the daughter of Reuben Lord and Elizabeth Ely. Anna Lord married Abiel Brown, son of Capt. John Brown and Hannah Owen, on 16 October 1806.

     Fannie Almira Brown was born on 20 June 1848 at Canton, Hartford Co., CT. She was the daughter of John Brown and Laura Lucinda Case. Fannie Almira Brown married Anson Walter Case, son of Lucian Benajah Case and Mary Examia Mills, on 18 June 1868 at Canton, Hartford Co., CT. Fannie Almira Brown died on 23 June 1909 at Canton, Hartford Co., CT, at age 61.

     Ralph is recorded in the 1900 Avon census, film T623-135, on page 12A, line 37, as a railroad agent, with Charlotte, Esther M., and sister-in-law Emma Case.

He was recorded in the 1910 Avon census, page 6B, line 82, with Annie T., M. Esther, and step-son, John Joyce.

He was recorded in the 1920 Avon census, page 1A, line 4, as a Grocery store owner, with Annie J., Esther M., and son John J. Case. Ralph Ernest Case was born on 10 July 1869. He was the son of Anson Walter Case and Fannie Almira Brown. Ralph Ernest Case married Charlotte Lucia Case, daughter of Asa Case and Orlee Ann Steele, on 25 June 1891 at Canton, Hartford Co., CT. Ralph Ernest Case married Annie T. Joyce in 1908. Ralph Ernest Case died in 1926.

     Asa Case was born on 1 April 1829 at Canton, Hartford Co., CT. He was the son of Milton Case and Eunice Reed. Asa Case was baptized on 12 July 1829 at Congregationalist; First Congregational Church, Canton, Hartford Co., CT. He married Orlee Ann Steele, daughter of Martin Steele and Susan Cadwell, on 8 March 1870 at Congregational Church, West Avon, CT. Asa Case died on 8 February 1889 at Canton, Hartford Co., CT, at age 59.

     The church records in West Avon give Orlee's name as "Harriet O. Steele". Orlee Ann Steele was born on 20 May 1844 at Avon, Hartford Co., CT. She was the daughter of Martin Steele and Susan Cadwell. Orlee Ann Steele married Asa Case, son of Milton Case and Eunice Reed, on 8 March 1870 at Congregational Church, West Avon, CT. Orlee Ann Steele died on 21 May 1909 at Canton, Hartford Co., CT, at age 65.

     Martin Steele married Susan Cadwell.

     Susan Cadwell married Martin Steele.

     Charlotte Lucia Case was born on 25 June 1872 at Canton, Hartford Co., CT. She was the daughter of Asa Case and Orlee Ann Steele. Charlotte Lucia Case was baptized on 2 May 1875 at Congregationalist; Canton Congregational Church, Canton, Hartford Co., CT. She married Ralph Ernest Case, son of Anson Walter Case and Fannie Almira Brown, on 25 June 1891 at Canton, Hartford Co., CT.

     Annie T. Joyce was born circa 1872. She married Ralph Ernest Case, son of Anson Walter Case and Fannie Almira Brown, in 1908.

     John Joyce was born circa 1905. He was the son of Annie T. Joyce.

     Sylvia Maria Rockwell was born on 8 February 1817 at Canton, Bradford Co., PA.² She was the daughter of John C. Rockwell and Harriet Andrus. Sylvia Maria Rockwell married JP Orator Holcombe, son of Hugh Holcombe and Prudence Bailey, on 2 February 1836 at LeRoy, Bradford Co., PA; Information online from Pioneer and Patriot Families of Bradford County, 1770-1800, Volume 1, by Clement F. Heverly. Sylvia Maria Rockwell died on 26 March 1896 at Leroy, Bradford Co., PA, at age 79.² She was buried at Leroy Cemetery, Leroy, Bradford Co., PA.²

Mrs. Sylvia Holcomb died at her home n LeRoy March 26 aged 79 years. She is survived by one daughter. Funeral services were held from the Disciples of Church Church of which she was a charter member.

Her husband Orator Holcomb does have a tombstone, so probably Sylvia is also there. She is Sylvia Maria Rockwell, daughter of John Calvin Rockwell and Harriet Andrus Rockwell of Granville.

     Harriet Melissa Holcombe was born on 24 March 1838 at PA.² She was the daughter of JP Orator Holcombe and Sylvia Maria Rockwell. Harriet Melissa Holcombe married Alfred Daniel Stone on 5 November 1856 at Leroy, Bradford Co., PA.² Harriet Melissa Holcombe died on 28 August 1909 at age 71.² She was buried at Leroy Cemetery, Leroy, Bradford Co., PA.²

Harriet was recorded in the 1850 census of LeRoy, Bradford Co., PA, age 12, in the household of her father, Orator.

     John C. Rockwell was born at Cornwall, Addison Co., VT.

John came to Canton PA with his parents in 1804. He was a shoemaker by trade, and his life was spent in Canton, Troy, LeRoy and Granville townships; he cleared and improved the farm occupied by his son Samuel, and died there.

     Alfred Daniel Stone was born on 10 March 1843.¹ He married Harriet Melissa Holcombe, daughter of JP Orator Holcombe and Sylvia Maria Rockwell, on 5 November 1856 at Leroy, Bradford Co., PA.² Alfred Daniel Stone died in 1889. He died on 10 August 1890 at age 47.¹ He was buried at Leroy Cemetery, Leroy, Bradford Co., PA.¹

     Ezra Stone was the son of Alfred Daniel Stone and Harriet Melissa Holcombe.

     Dayton Stone was the son of Alfred Daniel Stone and Harriet Melissa Holcombe.

     Frank Dwight Stone was born in 1870. He was the son of Alfred Daniel Stone and Harriet Melissa Holcombe.

     Troy, PA, was a frontier settlement when Tyrus was born there. He was apprenticed to shoemaking at age 15, including harness-making, tanning and currying. A cut on his knee complicated with rheumatism confining him in bed that leg becoming stiffened in the knee joint and set at nearly a right angle in the knee. He toured Southern States for his health in 1845, spending a winter with a brother on a sugar plantation at Bayou LaForche, 80 miles south of New Orleans in LA. The next spring he went to Rock Island, IL on the Upper Mississippi River; thence to Chicago; went next to Lafayette, Stark Co., IL and located on a land claim six miles from Toulon in Stark Co., then returned to Bradford Co., PA, home.

In the spring he and wife, Emeline and one child moved (1847) to his claim near lafayette, IL, and there engaged in farming and his shoe trade in town. March 21, 1853, he and his family joined a "covered wagon" train immigrating to the N.W. Pacific Coast, led by James Biles from KY. Himes' destination was Monmouth, Polk Co., Oregon, where a colony of his friends had bone in 1852 to found an educational institution. Their caravan stopped October 21, 1853 at the home of David Chambers, four miles east of Olympia, Washington Territory.

A published genreal description of this pilgrimage shows courage and human qualities of these pioneers worthy of emulation by any generation. Tyrus settled November 9, 1853 on 350 acres one mile further east, where his family remained until the Indian War in 1855, his and heighbors' families taking shelter in block houses until peace, returning to the farm in March 1857.

He engaged in his trade in Olympia, returning week-ends to his family on the farm until 1863, thereafter remaining home until his death. His unfailing industry left his family an ideal farm home.

In 1884 Emeline returned by railroad train for a visit to her brother, Cyrus, in clark Co., IA; to kin at Elmira, Chemung Co., NY and Bradford Co., PA, whre she met over 300 relatives, next returning to her home, then in Portland, OR. Tyrus Himes was born on 14 April 1818 at Troy, Bradford Co., PA. He married Emeline Holcombe, daughter of Hugh Holcombe and Prudence Bailey, on 1 May 1843 at Granville, Bradford Co., PA.¹ Tyrus Himes died on 24 April 1879 at Olympia, Thurston Co, WA, at age 61.

     Maria Nobles was born circa 1810. She married Judson Holcombe, son of Hugh Holcombe and Prudence Bailey, on 25 December 1845 at Standing Stone, PA.¹

     Clara Holcombe was born circa 1846. She was the daughter of Judson Holcombe and Maria Nobles. Clara Holcombe married Henry Clinton Porter Jr.

     Frances Holcombe was also known as Eliza Frances Holcombe. She was born in July 1849 at Bradford Co., PA. She was the daughter of Judson Holcombe and Maria Nobles. Frances Holcombe married Charles Lockwood Tracy, son of Guy Tracy and Ulilla Read Hoyt, on 28 September 1869.

     George worked first in timbering, teaming and farming; began learning printing Juen 10, 1861, in the office of the Standard, a newspaper, Olympia, Washington Territory, continuing until March 1, 1864, when he became a compositor on The Oregonian, Portland, OR, where he continued until June 1, 1865. He next engaged in job printing there and became a journeyman printer, working as such until October 5, 1868. He next became partner with his employer, William d. Carter as job printers until april 1869, when Carter was succeeded by William A Daly. In April 1870 he bought his partner's interest and continued the job printing business alone past October 14, 1886. He served as Treasurer of the State of Washington. George Henry Himes was born on 18 May 1844. He was the son of Tyrus Himes and Emeline Holcombe.

     Helen Zephyrine Himes was born on 6 February 1848. She was the daughter of Tyrus Himes and Emeline Holcombe. Helen Zephyrine Himes married William Henry Ruddell on 22 February 1864.

     Judson was a baker, printer, construction worker on the N. Pacific Railroad, projectig North from Kalama; suffered a broken thigh from a falling tree; worked in a logging camp, farmed and studied at business college. Judson Wyckliffe Himes was born on 9 March 1850. He was the son of Tyrus Himes and Emeline Holcombe.

     Lestina Zulpha Himes was born on 27 November 1852. She was the daughter of Tyrus Himes and Emeline Holcombe. Lestina Zulpha Himes married Nathan Eaton on 15 December 1872. Lestina Zulpha Himes married John C. Carney on 1 December 1883.

     Mary Elizabeth Himes was born on 20 June 1855. She was the daughter of Tyrus Himes and Emeline Holcombe. Mary Elizabeth Himes died on 1 January 1876 at age 20.

     Horace Greeley Himes was born on 4 March 1860. He was the son of Tyrus Himes and Emeline Holcombe. Horace Greeley Himes died on 18 September 1879 at age 19.

     Charles stayed with his widowed mother on their farm until she sold it in 1883; learned black-smithing, which he followed at Hoquiam, Grays Harbor Co., Washington. Charles Hercules Himes was born on 13 December 1862. He was the son of Tyrus Himes and Emeline Holcombe.

     Theodore remained on home farm with his mother until she sold it in 1883. He next engaged inlumbering, teaming, and mail carrying. Theodore Eugene Himes was born on 5 November 1866. He was the son of Tyrus Himes and Emeline Holcombe.

     Carrie Frances Himes was born on 17 September 1867. She was the daughter of George Henry Himes and Anna F. Riggs. Carrie Frances Himes died on 12 September 1884 at age 16.

     Edna Emeline Himes was born on 4 July 1869. She was the daughter of George Henry Himes and Anna F. Riggs.

     Sarah Myrtle Himes was born on 19 February 1871. She was the daughter of George Henry Himes and Anna F. Riggs.
