     Allen A. Alderman was born on 3 February 1827 at East Granby, Hartford Co., CT.¹ He was the son of Harvey Alderman and Sally Holcombe.¹ Allen A. Alderman married Sophia Ann Snow on 26 April 1860 at East Granby, Hartford Co., CT.¹ Allen A. Alderman died on 22 June 1903 at age 76.¹

Allen was enumerated in the 1900 Windsor, Ashtabula Co., OH, census, as single, with sister Phara? G., born November 1842, also single.

     Sophia Ann Snow was born on 10 April 1839. She married Allen A. Alderman, son of Harvey Alderman and Sally Holcombe, on 26 April 1860 at East Granby, Hartford Co., CT.¹

     Benjamin N. Alderman was born on 26 October 1862. He was the son of Allen A. Alderman and Sophia Ann Snow.¹

Benjamin and Martha were enumerated in the 1920 East Granby census, page 2B, line 72, with Sophia in the household.

     Allen C. Alderman was born on 26 September 1867. He was the son of Allen A. Alderman and Sophia Ann Snow.¹

     Laura C. Alderman was born on 3 February 1821 at East Granby, Hartford Co., CT.¹ She was the daughter of Harvey Alderman and Sally Holcombe.¹ Laura C. Alderman lived at Westfield, Hampden Co., MA.² She died on 22 March 1884 at age 63.¹

The Barbour Records gives the marriage date as 22 October 1844, by I. B. Clarke.

     Chloe H. Alderman was born on 14 April 1823 at East Granby, Hartford Co., CT.¹ She was the daughter of Harvey Alderman and Sally Holcombe.¹ Chloe H. Alderman lived at Fairbury, IL.² She died on 16 December 1912 at age 89.¹

     James Harvey Alderman was born on 3 January 1825 at East Granby, Hartford Co., CT.¹ He was the son of Harvey Alderman and Sally Holcombe.¹ James Harvey Alderman married Catherine E. Holcombe on 30 August 1847.^1,2 James Harvey Alderman married Sarah Jane Snow on 8 February 1851.¹ James Harvey Alderman died on 21 May 1908 at age 83.¹

     Catherine E. Holcombe married James Harvey Alderman, son of Harvey Alderman and Sally Holcombe, on 30 August 1847.^1,2 Catherine E. Holcombe died on 15 June 1848.¹

     Sarah Jane Snow was born in 1830 at Canada.² She married James Harvey Alderman, son of Harvey Alderman and Sally Holcombe, on 8 February 1851.¹

In the 1860 East Granby, Hardford Co., CT federal census. James H. Alderman and wife Sarah S. were enumerated with Snow children Edna, Mary E., Caty J., Ellen F. Apparently, Sarah was previously married to a Mr. Snow and they had these four children. There is no documentation.

     Esther J. Alderman was born on 15 April 1833 at East Granby, Hartford Co., CT.¹ She was the daughter of Harvey Alderman and Sally Holcombe.¹ Esther J. Alderman died on 18 December 1852 at age 19.¹

     Brainard Lewis Alderman was born on 10 October 1837 at East Granby, Hartford Co., CT.¹ He was the son of Harvey Alderman and Sally Holcombe.¹ Brainard Lewis Alderman married Elizabeth A. Root, daughter of Lewis Root, on 30 November 1859 at Hartford, Hartford Co., CT.¹ Brainard Lewis Alderman died on 23 February 1922 at CT at age 84.¹ He was buried at Elmwood Cemetery, East Granby, Hartford Co., CT.²

Brainard started his career in a dry goods store in Hartford as bookkeeper; later (1866) he moved to Suffield and devoted his attention to farming, specializing in tobacco. He also bought horses in Canada and sold them in the local markets. He was prominent in the general life of the community and in 1883 he represented his district in the State Legislature. This fact speaks highly of his personal popularity and the esteem in which he was held, as he was the only Democrat to hold that office up to the time of his election, or even to as late as 1917. For fifteen years he was State Game Warden.³

     Elizabeth A. Root was born on 1 October 1839 at West Jefferson, OH.² She was the daughter of Lewis Root.² Elizabeth A. Root married Brainard Lewis Alderman, son of Harvey Alderman and Sally Holcombe, on 30 November 1859 at Hartford, Hartford Co., CT.¹ Elizabeth A. Root died on 16 September 1911 at age 71.

     Ellen L. Alderman was born on 24 August 1840 at East Granby, Hartford Co., CT.¹ She was the daughter of Harvey Alderman and Sally Holcombe.¹ Ellen L. Alderman died on 10 September 1929 at age 89.¹

     Edna Alderman was born on 28 October 1851.¹ She was the daughter of James Harvey Alderman and Sarah Jane Snow.¹

     Mary Esther Alderman was born on 9 August 1853.¹ She was the daughter of James Harvey Alderman and Sarah Jane Snow.¹

     Katherine J. Alderman was born on 11 December 1856.¹ She was the daughter of James Harvey Alderman and Sarah Jane Snow.¹

     Nellie Fie Alderman was born on 8 January 1859.¹ She was the daughter of James Harvey Alderman and Sarah Jane Snow.¹

     Solomon Flagg Alderman was born on 1 July 1861.¹ He was the son of James Harvey Alderman and Sarah Jane Snow.¹

     Harvey L. Alderman was born on 7 July 1860.¹ He was the son of Brainard Lewis Alderman and Elizabeth A. Root.¹

     George Brainard Alderman was born on 2 March 1863.¹ He was the son of Brainard Lewis Alderman and Elizabeth A. Root.¹

George was a member of the Masonic order, the Knights of Pythias, and the entire family were members of the Congregational Church. George was educated a the Connecticut Literary Institute and at the Williston Academy. By occupation he was a farmer, merchant, real estate dealer, operator of tobacco warehouses, and he succeeded his father as Sate Game Warden, which position he held for fifteen years.²

     Martha Elizabeth Alderman was born on 7 October 1865.¹ She was the daughter of Brainard Lewis Alderman and Elizabeth A. Root.¹

     Urial Samuel Alderman was born on 19 February 1875 at CT.¹ He was the son of Brainard Lewis Alderman and Elizabeth A. Root.¹ Urial Samuel Alderman married Frances May Henry on 15 September 1896.¹ Urial Samuel Alderman died on 5 March 1953 at Preston, New London Co., CT, at age 78. He was buried at Elmwood Cemetery, East Granby, Hartford Co., CT.³

     Frances May Henry was born on 3 July 1875 at West Suffield, Hartford Co., CT. She married Urial Samuel Alderman, son of Brainard Lewis Alderman and Elizabeth A. Root, on 15 September 1896.¹ Frances May Henry died on 17 March 1973 at Torrington, Litchfield Co., CT, at age 97. She was buried.²

     Edna Clara Alderman was born on 13 January 1892.^1,2 She was the daughter of George Brainard Alderman and Clara M. Sheldon.¹ Edna Clara Alderman died in July 1981 at Long Beach, Los Angeles Co., CA, at age 89.²

     Charles Brainard Alderman was born on 27 February 1908.^1,2 He was the son of George Brainard Alderman and Clara M. Sheldon.¹ Charles Brainard Alderman married Florence Scharmer on 29 June 1935.¹ Charles Brainard Alderman died on 5 October 1993 at West Springfield, Hampden Co., MA, at age 85.²

     Florence Scharmer was born on 13 July 1907.² She married Charles Brainard Alderman, son of George Brainard Alderman and Clara M. Sheldon, on 29 June 1935.¹ Florence Scharmer died in October 1990 at West Springfield, Hampden Co., MA, at age 83.²

     Daniel Truman Alderman was born on 22 December 1785.¹ He was the son of Epaphras Alderman and Chloe Hayes.¹ Daniel Truman Alderman married Eliza Goddard, daughter of Nathan Goddard and Aurelia Spring, on 1 June 1835.^1,2 Daniel Truman Alderman died in January 1868 at age 82.¹

One source claims that Daniel Truman Alderman married Daisy Hayes, but, if so, then he must have married three times. It is just possible that Haddasah and Daisy were one and the same person, for we received no dates for either. Daniel resided in Holyoke, MA.³

Granby records indicate that the marriage to Eliza Godard on 1 Jun 1835 by C. Bentley was to Daniel Truman Alderman Jr.

     Eliza Goddard was also known as Rhoda Eliza Goddard.² She was born on 27 April 1813.^2,3 She was the daughter of Nathan Goddard and Aurelia Spring.² Eliza Goddard married Daniel Truman Alderman, son of Epaphras Alderman and Chloe Hayes, on 1 June 1835.^1,3 Eliza Goddard died on 23 September 1836 at age 23.²

     Camelia Alderman was born on 22 February 1788.¹ She was the daughter of Epaphras Alderman and Chloe Hayes.¹ Camelia Alderman died on 20 August 1884 at age 96.¹

     Lydia Alderman was born on 10 April 1790.¹ She was the daughter of Epaphras Alderman and Chloe Hayes.¹ Lydia Alderman married Grandison Holcombe in 1811 at East Granby, Hartford Co., CT.² Lydia Alderman died on 3 March 1836 at age 45.¹
