He was the son of Dr. Samuel Drayton Holcombe and Martha M. Chapman. Drayton Frazer Holcombe lived in 1926 at 18890 Grand River Ave., Redford, Wayne Co., MI. He died in May 1965 at MI at age 69.¹

     Clayton E. Holcombe lived at Redford, Wayne Co., MI. He was born on 22 September 1897 at Southfield, Oakland Co., MI. He was the son of Dr. Samuel Drayton Holcombe and Martha M. Chapman. Clayton E. Holcombe was graduated in 1922 at AB; University of Michigan. He was graduated in 1927 at MD; University of Louisville.

     Dr. Augustine Holcombe lived at Novi, MI. He was the son of Andrew Thompson Holcombe and Lydia Horton. Dr. Augustine Holcombe died in 1938. He was buried at Northville, Wayne Co., MI.

     Dr. August Holcombe lived at Northville, Wayne Co., MI. The SSDI has an August Holcombe, born Aug. 20, 1894, died Feb 1978 in Northville, MI. He was the son of Dr. Augustine Holcombe and May Hartsorn. Dr. August Holcombe died.

     Jack Augustine Holcombe was the son of Dr. August Holcombe and Dawn Clark. Jack Augustine Holcombe died on 2 April 1943 at Northville, Wayne Co., MI.

     May Holcombe was the daughter of Dr. Augustine Holcombe and May Hartsorn.

     Dr. Eliott Frazer Holcombe was born on 13 August 1867 at North Pelham, Welland Co., Ontario, Canada. He was the son of Andrew Thompson Holcombe and Lydia Horton. Dr. Eliott Frazer Holcombe married Elizabeth Ann Sherman. Dr. Eliott Frazer Holcombe died in 1931.

     Elizabeth Ann Sherman was born on 4 November 1867. She married Dr. Eliott Frazer Holcombe, son of Andrew Thompson Holcombe and Lydia Horton.

     Frazer Drayton Holcombe was the son of Dr. Eliott Frazer Holcombe and Elizabeth Ann Sherman. Frazer Drayton Holcombe died in 1916.

     Alice Frazer Holcombe was the daughter of Dr. Eliott Frazer Holcombe and Elizabeth Ann Sherman.

     Adopted. Drayton Frazer Holcombe Jr. was born on 23 June 1916. He was the son of Dr. Eliott Frazer Holcombe and Elizabeth Ann Sherman.

     Charlotte C. Clark was born on 21 June 1824 at Vernon, Trumbull Co., OH. She was the daughter of Ralsamond Clark and Dorothy Bates Holcombe. Charlotte C. Clark died on 27 July 1825 at age 1.

     Ralsamon is recorded in the 1850 census of Vernon, Trumbull Co., Ohio, as a lawyer. He had earlier made a sea voyage to Ceylon upon advice of physicians. Ralsamon Aaron Clark was born on 26 May 1826 at Vernon, Trumbull Co., OH. He was the son of Ralsamond Clark and Dorothy Bates Holcombe. Ralsamon Aaron Clark married Ellen Holcombe, daughter of Grove Catlin Holcombe and Sarah Dibble. Ralsamon Aaron Clark died on 12 December 1854 at Typhoid Fever at age 28.

     Rodney William Clark was born on 20 August 1827 at Vernon, Trumbull Co., OH. He was the son of Ralsamond Clark and Dorothy Bates Holcombe. Rodney William Clark married Cornelia S. Church. Rodney William Clark died on 27 December 1879 at Flint, Genesee Co, MI, at age 52.¹ He was buried at New Kinsman Cemetery, Kinsman, Trumbull Co., OH.¹

He died in Flint, Genesee, Michigan. Below is an account of his death from newspaper clipping from unknown newspaper:
"Mysterious Death of an Ohio Man at Flint, Mich.
Special Dispatch to the Enquirer.
Flint, Mich., December 28 - This morning the body of a man was found on the ice in the river near the railroad depot, which, through papers in his pocket was identified as that of R.W. Clark, of Kinsman, Trumbull County, Ohio, who with a man named Robert Gordon, was registered at the Thayer House. Clark was a stock dealer, having shipped a car-load of horses from here a few days hence. The body had the appearance of having fallen or being thrown from the dock, a distance of twelve feet. One side of his face was crushed and his skull was badly fractured. The position of the snow showed that no sign of struggle had taken place after the body fell. Two hundred and eighty-eight dollars was found in his pocket, but no memorandum of sales; also, a letter from the Trumbull National Bank. Gordon is missing."      Cornelia S. Church was born at NY. She married Rodney William Clark, son of Ralsamond Clark and Dorothy Bates Holcombe.

     Charlotte A. Clark married William R. Chapman. Charlotte A. Clark was born on 28 October 1829. She was the daughter of Ralsamond Clark and Dorothy Bates Holcombe. Charlotte A. Clark died on 12 January 1857 at age 27.

     William R. Chapman married Charlotte A. Clark, daughter of Ralsamond Clark and Dorothy Bates Holcombe.

     Grove Eber Clark was born in 1833 at Vernon, Trumbull Co., OH. He was the son of Ralsamond Clark and Dorothy Bates Holcombe.

     Julia Louisa Clark married Dr. James Brackin. Julia Louisa Clark was born in May 1831 at Vernon, Trumbull Co., OH. She was the daughter of Ralsamond Clark and Dorothy Bates Holcombe. Julia Louisa Clark died on 30 August 1898 at age 67.

     Dr. James Brackin married Julia Louisa Clark, daughter of Ralsamond Clark and Dorothy Bates Holcombe.

     Wealthia Ann Clark was born on 17 July 1835 at Vernon, Trumbull Co., OH. She was the daughter of Ralsamond Clark and Dorothy Bates Holcombe. Wealthia Ann Clark married Dr. Robert Brackin, son of Ezekial Brackin and Mary Hillis, on 21 November 1854. Wealthia Ann Clark died on 17 August 1896 at age 61.

     Dr. Robert Brackin was born on 9 November 1823. He was the son of Ezekial Brackin and Mary Hillis. Dr. Robert Brackin married Wealthia Ann Clark, daughter of Ralsamond Clark and Dorothy Bates Holcombe, on 21 November 1854. Dr. Robert Brackin died on 14 June 1898 at age 74.

     Laura Sophia Clark was born on 14 June 1839 at Vernon, Trumbull Co., OH. She was the daughter of Ralsamond Clark and Dorothy Bates Holcombe. Laura Sophia Clark married I.D. Mattocks on 16 June 1860. Laura Sophia Clark died on 9 September 1910 at age 71.

     May be J.D. Mattocks. I.D. Mattocks was born on 28 December 1835 at Vernon, Trumbull Co., OH. He married Laura Sophia Clark, daughter of Ralsamond Clark and Dorothy Bates Holcombe, on 16 June 1860. I.D. Mattocks died on 10 November 1885 at Toledo, OH, at age 49.

     Mary Clark Mattocks lived at Spayton Duyvil, NY. She was born on 20 November 1862. She was the daughter of I.D. Mattocks and Laura Sophia Clark.

     Frederick W. Mattocks lived at Closter, N.J. He was born on 6 February 1868. He was the son of I.D. Mattocks and Laura Sophia Clark.

     Mehitable Buttolph was born on 25 August 1704 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT. She was the daughter of Sgt. David Buttolph and Mary Buck. Mehitable Buttolph married Lt. David Holcombe, son of Lt. Nathaniel Holcombe and Martha Buell, on 1 March 1722 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT.^2,3 Mehitable Buttolph died on 4 March 1767 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT, at age 62.⁴

     David Holcombe II was born on 28 August 1724.^4,5 He was the son of Lt. David Holcombe and Mehitable Buttolph. David Holcombe II married Elizabeth Griffin, daughter of Nathaniel Griffin II and Elizabeth Griffin, circa 1749. David Holcombe II died on 28 September 1803 at Bilious Fever at age 79.⁴

     Elizabeth Griffin was born on 17 February 1728. She was the daughter of Nathaniel Griffin II and Elizabeth Griffin. Elizabeth Griffin married David Holcombe II, son of Lt. David Holcombe and Mehitable Buttolph, circa 1749. Elizabeth Griffin died in October 1801 at age 73.

     Cephas J. Holcombe was born on 4 November 1773 at Granby, Hartford Co., CT.³ He was the son of David Holcombe II and Elizabeth Griffin. Cephas J. Holcombe married Hannah Holcombe, daughter of Ahas Holcombe and Hannah Stevens, on 11 March 1797. Cephas J. Holcombe died on 29 June 1822 at age 48.³

     Hannah Holcombe was born on 3 December 1777 at Turkey Hills Parish, Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT; Bates, Turkey Hills records the birth on this day but does not name the child.^2,3 She was the daughter of Ahas Holcombe and Hannah Stevens. Hannah Holcombe married Cephas J. Holcombe, son of David Holcombe II and Elizabeth Griffin, on 11 March 1797. Hannah Holcombe died on 18 July 1822 at age 44.²

     Hiram Holcombe was also known as James Hiram Holcombe.² He was born on 6 January 1798. He was the son of Cephas J. Holcombe and Hannah Holcombe. Hiram Holcombe married Almira Griswold, daughter of Alexander Griswold II and Alice Bascomb, on 15 January 1821 at Granby, Hartford Co., CT.² Hiram Holcombe died on 24 March 1873 at Princeton, Bureau Co., IL, at age 75.

Hiram represented Canaan in the CT Assembly in 1845. He was an auctioneer; knew everyone in Granby, CT, and vicinity and kept records and notes preserving much information of many families. He is recorded in the 1850 Windsor, Hartford Co., CT, census as a carpenter.

     McPherson says that Almira, daughter of Alexander Griswold II is the sister of Laura E. Griswold who married Dryden Holcombe, but McPherson gives conflicting and incomplete data. Almira Griswold was born on 20 June 1797 at Granby, Hartford Co., CT.¹ She was the daughter of Alexander Griswold II and Alice Bascomb. Almira Griswold married Hiram Holcombe, son of Cephas J. Holcombe and Hannah Holcombe, on 15 January 1821 at Granby, Hartford Co., CT.¹ Almira Griswold died on 1 August 1874 at Princeton, Bureau Co., IL, at age 77.

     Sarah Helena Holcombe was born on 27 December 1852 at CT. She was the daughter of Edwin Bascomb Holcombe and Sarah A. Soper. Sarah Helena Holcombe married William H. Barnes on 25 December 1873.

     William H. Barnes was born circa 1852 at CT.¹ He married Sarah Helena Holcombe, daughter of Edwin Bascomb Holcombe and Sarah A. Soper, on 25 December 1873.

     Harriet Almira Holcombe was born on 25 July 1858. She was the daughter of Edwin Bascomb Holcombe and Sarah A. Soper. Harriet Almira Holcombe died on 27 June 1913 at age 54.

     Hiram Chester is recorded in the 1850 census of Windsor, Hartford Co., CT, as a joiner. He was employed in the US Armory, Springfield, MA, where he enlisted December 31, 1863 in the 13th Heavy Artillery; mustered February 10, 1864; musted out September 25, 1865. Hiram Chester Holcombe was born on 25 September 1821. He was the son of Hiram Holcombe and Almira Griswold. Hiram Chester Holcombe married Caroline Hall on 12 March 1846. Hiram Chester Holcombe died on 7 March 1897 at Princeton, Bureau Co., IL, at age 75.

     Caroline Hall was born on 2 May 1821 at MA. She married Hiram Chester Holcombe, son of Hiram Holcombe and Almira Griswold, on 12 March 1846. Caroline Hall died on 15 May 1907 at Princeton, Bureau Co., IL, at age 86.

     Charles was a carpenter in Dane Co., WI, in 1860. Charles Case Holcombe was born on 18 September 1824. He was the son of Hiram Holcombe and Almira Griswold. Charles Case Holcombe died on 22 August 1898 at Princeton, Bureau Co., IL, at age 73.

     Harriet Eliza Holcombe was born on 21 November 1827 at CT.³ She was the daughter of Hiram Holcombe and Almira Griswold. Harriet Eliza Holcombe married Chester Tracy on 23 May 1847.³ Harriet Eliza Holcombe died on 14 January 1861 at IL at age 33.³

     Chester Tracy was born on 19 July 1822 at NY.¹ He married Harriet Eliza Holcombe, daughter of Hiram Holcombe and Almira Griswold, on 23 May 1847.¹ Chester Tracy died on 2 July 1896 at IL at age 73.¹
