ASA HOLCOMB, retired farmer, P. O. Rundell's, is a native of Connecticut, born July 20, 1804; son of Asa and Lucinda (Miller) Holcomb, also natives of Connecticut, and parents of ten children. They came to this county in 1836. Asa Holcomb, Sr., was a farmer. Our subject, the third in the family, was married February 26, 1833, to Fanny Orcutt, a native of Wendell, Franklin Co., Mass., and daughter of John and Polly Orcutt. To this union were born eleven children, six now living: Almeda C., wife of J. Wood; Hiram J., married to Isabella South'wick; Almira, wife of William Matthews; Sophronia, wife of Z. B. Farr; Viola, wife of George H. Brown, and Lura, wife of George Gates. Our subject has always followed farming pursuits and
has accumulated 150 acres of land by hard work and economy on the part of both himself and wife. In politics he is a strong Republican.

ASA HOLCOMB, retired farmer, P. O. Rundell's, is a native of Connecticut, born July 20, 1804; son of Asa and Lucinda (Miller) Holcomb, also natives of Connecticut, and parents of ten children. They came to this county in 1836. Asa Holcomb, Sr., was a farmer. Our subject, the third in the family, was married February 26, 1833, to Fanny Orcutt, a native of Wendell, Franklin Co., Mass., and daughter of John and Polly Orcutt. To this union were born eleven children, six now living: Almeda C., wife of J. Wood; Hiram J., married to Isabella South'wick; Almira, wife of William Matthews; Sophronia, wife of Z. B. Farr; Viola, wife of George H. Brown, and Lura, wife of George Gates. Our subject has always followed farming pursuits and
has accumulated 150 acres of land by hard work and economy on the part of both himself and wife. In politics he is a strong Republican.

Wealthy Holcombe
b. 30 May 1807, d. 14 November 1871
Wealthy Holcombe was also known as Wealthanna Holcombe.1 She was born on 30 May 1807 at Granby, Hartford Co., CT.2,1 She was the daughter of Asa Holcombe and Lucinda Miller. Wealthy Holcombe married Lewis Offensend, son of Matthias Offensend and Polly (?), in 1825.1 Wealthy Holcombe died on 14 November 1871 at Summerhill, Crawford Co., PA, at age 64.1
Lewis moved with his parents from Connecticut to Washington Co., NY. In about 1829 he moved with his family to Crawford Co., PA 3.
It is said that once when an Indian attack was expected momentarily, Wealthanna, a small girl, was concealed under a huge soap kettle for twenty four hours. 3

Children in the household were Amos 25 a boatman, Polly A. 23, Asa 21, Phylura 18, Adelia 16, Wealthanna (actually name illegible) 14, Caroline 11, Lewis 8, Emily J. 6, and Oliver 5/12.

Luman and A. D. were enumerated in the 1870 Cormeantville, Spring Twp., Crawford Co., PA, federal census. He was a farmer age 60, she was 54. The only child in the household was O. H. 18. Son JJ was enumerated next door, and brother Asa was next to him.
