     Mary E. Bishop was born circa 1845.¹ She was the daughter of Stephen Bishop and Mariah Holcombe.¹

     Gideon Hollister was born on 23 September 1699 at Glastonbury, Hartford Co., CT.¹ He married Rachel Talcot in 1723.¹ Gideon Hollister died on 15 February 1785 at age 85.¹

     Mariah Bishop was born in 1842.¹ She was the daughter of Stephen Bishop and Mariah Holcombe.¹

     Josiah Phelps was born on 25 January 1763 at Harwinton, Litchfield Co., CT.¹ He was the son of Capt. Josiah Phelps and Anna Denslow. Josiah Phelps married Mary Phelps, daughter of Deacon Aaron Phelps and Ruth Hathaway, on 19 December 1786.¹ Josiah Phelps died on 1 September 1828 at Windsor, Hartford Co., CT, at age 65.¹

     Martha Ann (?) was born circa 1839.¹ She married Thomas Bishop, son of Stephen Bishop and Mariah Holcombe.¹

     Deacon Aaron Phelps was born on 4 May 1734 at Suffield, Hartford Co., CT.¹ He was the son of Capt. Timothy Phelps and Abigail Merrick. Deacon Aaron Phelps married Ruth Hathaway on 3 April 1760.¹ Deacon Aaron Phelps died on 24 June 1804 at age 70.¹

     Daniel Horsford was born in 1712.¹ He married Sarah Phelps, daughter of Joseph Phelps and Susannah Eno.¹ Daniel Horsford died in 1773.¹

     Daniel Horsford was born in 1738.¹ He was the son of Daniel Horsford and Sarah Phelps.¹ Daniel Horsford married Mary Lord.¹ Daniel Horsford died in 1802.¹

     James L. Horsford was born in 1802.¹ He was the son of John Horsford and Maria Van Winkle.¹ James L. Horsford married Nancy Thompson.¹ James L. Horsford died in 1864.¹

     James T. Horsford was also known as James T. Hosford. He was born in 1845.¹ He was the son of James L. Horsford and Nancy Thompson.¹ James T. Horsford married Carrie West.¹ James T. Horsford died in 1912.¹

James and Carrie were enumerated in the Winfield, Dupage Co., IL, federal census. He was a real estate agent, age 54, she was 44. Children in the household were Mary 20, William 18, and Florence 12. Also in the household was mother-in-law Elizabeth West, 78.

     William Horsford was also known as William Hosford. He was born in 1882.¹ He was the son of James T. Horsford and Carrie West.¹ William Horsford married Marjorie Fraser.¹ William Horsford died in 1958.¹

     Norman F. Horsford was also known as Norman F. Hosford. He was born on 23 September 1914.^1,2 He was the son of William Horsford and Marjorie Fraser.¹ Norman F. Horsford married Beatrice M. Roy.¹ Norman F. Horsford died on 21 November 1996 at Old Lyme, New London Co., CT, at age 82.²

     William Matthews married Almira Holcombe, daughter of Asa Holcombe and Fanny Orcutt.

     J. Wood married Almedia Holcombe, daughter of Asa Holcombe and Fanny Orcutt.

     George H. Brown married Viola Holcombe, daughter of Asa Holcombe and Fanny Orcutt.

     George H. Gates was born in 1843 at PA. He married Lura Holcombe, daughter of Asa Holcombe and Fanny Orcutt.

     Frederick Kerr Cummings was born on 21 March 1881 at IL.^1,2 He was the son of James Henry Cummings and Cordelia Parnell Holcombe.¹

     Henry B. Holcombe was born circa 1831.¹ He was the son of Elam Holcombe and Unknown (?)¹

     James Holcombe was born circa 1833.¹ He was the son of Elam Holcombe and Unknown (?)¹

     Bernard M. Holcombe was born circa 1843.¹ He was the son of Elam Holcombe and Cornelia Perry.¹ Bernard M. Holcombe was also known as Birney M. Holcombe. He married Annett Blanc on 30 September 1868 at Watertown, Jefferson Co., NY. Bernard M. Holcombe married Catherine Smith on 3 July 1875 at Northampton, Hampshire Co., MA. Bernard M. Holcombe died on 4 April 1895 at Dayton, Montgomery Co., OH.

Birney was married to Annet "Nettie" Blanc in 30 Sep 1868 in Watertown with a child Fred Blanc Holcomb born in 1870.

There is a Nettie Holcombe listed in the 1870 Watertown federal census in the household of Birney parents, Elam and Cornelia, but with no relationship listed.

Annett Blanc Holcombe died 5 Jun 1870 and is buried in the Sanford Corners Cemetery.

Birney and Kate were enumerated in the 1880 Watertown, Jefferson Co., NY, federal census. He was a machinist age 36, she was 23. The only child in the household was Mabel 2.

     Hiram Holcombe was born circa 1855.¹ He was the son of Elam Holcombe and Cornelia Perry.¹

     Elam Lysander Holcombe was born on 23 August 1847 at Watertown, Jefferson Co., NY.^1,2 He was the son of Elam Holcombe and Cornelia Perry.¹ Elam Lysander Holcombe married Julia Frances McConnell on 2 January 1871 at Watertown, Jefferson Co., NY. Elam Lysander Holcombe died on 9 September 1926 at Watertown, Jefferson Co., NY, at age 79.² He was buried at North Watertown Cemetery, Watertown, Jefferson Co., NY.²

Elam L. and Julia F. were enumerated in the 1880 Watertown, Jefferson Co., NY, federal census. He was a machinist age 31, she was 27. Children in the household were Alice C. 7, and Helen 5.

Elam and Julia F. were again enumerated in the 1900 Watertown federal census. He was 51, she was 47. Children in the household were Helen 25, Burt E. 18, and Hazel M. 7.

From the Watertown Daily Times Sept 1926:

Elam L. Holcomb, 78, a well known and lifelong resident of Watertown, and a descendant of one of the pioneer settlers of this city, died early this morning at his home 156 East Lynde street. Although Mr. Holcomb had been in failing health for a number of years, his condition did not become serious until about two weeks ago.

He was born in Watertown, Aug. 23, 1847, a son of Elam and Cornelia Perry Holcomb. His father was a native of Lynchfield and his mother of Rome, N.Y. Both were pioneer settlers of the city of Watertown.

He was married Jan. 2, 1871 to Julia f. McConnell, a daughter of Owen and Alice McConnell. The ceremony was performed in Watertown by the Rev. James Hogan.

Practically the entire life of Mr. Holcomb had been spent in the employ of three large industrial concerns in Watertown. He was first employed at the old Davis Sewing Machine company here, until the plant was removed to Dayton, O.

Later he entered the employ of the New York Air Brake company where he stayed for seven years. At the end of that time he secured employment at the Bagley and Sewall company as a machinist. For nearly 30 years he continued in his work at Hagley and Sewall's until failing health forced him to retire.

On Jan 2, 1926 Mr. and Mrs. Holcomb quietly celebrated the 55th anniversary of their marriage.

Mr. Holcomb was a prominent Odd Fellow. He was a member of the Jefferson Union lodge, No. 74. L.O.O.F., and of the Century Odd Fellows club of the Jefferson Union lodge. He attended the Church of the Redeemer.

Besides his widow, who is in the best of health, three daughters, Mrs. B. H. Giles, 425 Grand avenue, Mrs., W. W. Steinhilber of Evans Mills, and Mrs. J. E. Kelly of Shepherd street and one son, Bert E. Holcomb of this city, survive.

There are also five grandsons, Clarence F. Giles, Howard E. Steinhilber, Carl W. Thomson, Roy Thompson, Robert J. Kelly; two granddaughters, Helen I. Giles and Marion A. Thomson; one great granddaughter, Grace Steinhilber of Evans Mills.

Two Brothers, Elliott A. Holcomb of Binghamton, and Hiram L. Holcomb of Hartford, Conn, a sister, Mrs. Julia Howe of Long Beach, Cal., and several nieces and nephews survive.

Funeral services will be conducted from the home Saturday afternoon at 2:30. The Rev. W. R. Courage, pastor of the Church of the Redeemer will officiate. Burial will be in North Watertown cemetery.

     Elliott Albert Holcombe was born in May 1860 at Watertown, Jefferson Co., NY.^1,2 He was the son of Elam Holcombe and Cornelia Perry.¹ Elliott Albert Holcombe was also known as Albert Holcombe. He married Florence Hopkins in 1890. Elliott Albert Holcombe married Elizabeth Irving circa 1911. Elliott Albert Holcombe died on 29 January 1933 at Hartford, Hartford Co., CT, at age 72.² He was buried at Spring Grove Cemetery, Florence, Hampshire Co., MA.²

There is an Elliot A. Holcomb in the 1900 Kingston, Ulster Co., NY, federal census, born May 1860, married to Florence, born Jan 1869 with children Nellie E. 9, and Hazel 4.

From the Hartford Courant, 30 Jan 1933:

Elliott A. Holcomb, 72, died sunday a his home, 94 Park Street. He was born in Watertown, N. Y., and was a member of the New England Order of Protection, Framingham, Mass., and of the Western Union Association of Binghamton, N. Y. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth (Irving) Holcomb; two daughters, Mrs. Nellie H. Corklind of Fort Edwards, N.Y., and Mrs Hazel Racket of rome, N.Y., and five grandchildren.

     John P. Holcombe was born in January 1851.^1,2 He was the son of Elam Holcombe and Cornelia Perry.¹ John P. Holcombe married Hattie Hassett. John P. Holcombe died on 18 February 1907 at Watertown, Jefferson Co., NY, at age 56.

John and "Frankie" were enumerated in the 1875 Watertown, Jefferson Co., NY, State census. He was 24, as was she. Children in the household were Eva 2, and an infant 2 months. They were enumerated next door to Elam and Cornelia.

This is probably the John P. who married Hattie Hassett and appears in subsequent census records.

John P. and Hattie were enumerated in the 1880 Watertown federal census. He was a machinist age 30, she was 30. Children in the household were Eva 7, William 5, and Sydmore 2 months.

John P. and Hattie were enumerated in the 1900 Watertown federal census. He was a photographer age 49, she was 50. They had been married 22 years. Children in the household were William R. 25, and Sidmore C. 20. Places of birth and other data do not match the 1880 census.

     Constant Mitchell was the daughter of Thomas Mitchell and Margaret Williams.² Constant Mitchell married John Fobes at probably.¹

     Clyde Evelyth Cummings was born on 4 August 1883 at IL.^1,2 He was the son of James Henry Cummings and Cordelia Parnell Holcombe.¹ Clyde Evelyth Cummings died on 5 January 1910 at British Columbia, Canada, at age 26; in a logging accident.²

     Margaret Williams married Thomas Mitchell on 9 May 1606.¹

     Michael Francis Middleton was born on 23 June 1949 at Leeds, West Yorkshire, England. He married Carole Elizabeth Goldsmith, daughter of Ronald John James Goldsmith and Dorothy Harrison, on 21 June 1980 at Church of St. James the Less, Dorney, Buckinghamshire, England.¹

     Mary (?) married Experience Mitchell, son of Thomas Mitchell and Margaret Williams.¹

     Carter Lanman Holcombe was born on 6 May 2011 at Ft. Walton Beach Medical Center, Ft. Walton Beach, Okaloosa Co., FL. He was the son of David Lanman Holcombe and Spring Nicole Hall.
