     Thankful Cowles was born on 26 June 1767. She was the daughter of Samuel Cowles. Thankful Cowles married Abijah Case, son of Ezekiel Case and Lucy Cornish. Thankful Cowles died on 20 March 1827 at Fairfield, CT, at age 59.

     Ruth updated her information on Reuben by a letter, showing that his first wife's name is unknown. Reuben Case was born on 5 September 1755 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT. He was the son of Elijah Case and Hannah Wilson. Reuben Case was baptized on 14 September 1755 at Congregationalist; West Avon Congregational, Avon, Hartford Co., CT.

     Desire Case was born on 7 February 1757 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT. She was the daughter of Elijah Case and Hannah Wilson. Desire Case married Samuel Beach, son of John Beach and Hannah (?), in October 1783 at Barkhamsted, Litchfield Co., CT.² Desire Case died on 16 April 1834 at Worthington, Franklin Co., OH, at age 77.² She was buried at St. John's Cemetery, Worthington, Franklin Co., OH.²

Virginia McCormick lists the parents of Desire (Desiah) as elijah and Paulina (Case) Case; Ruth Cost Duncan lists them as Elijah and Hannah (Wilson) Case.

     Samuel Beach was born on 18 October 1749 at Norfolk, Litchfield Co., CT.¹ He was the son of John Beach and Hannah (?) Samuel Beach married Desire Case, daughter of Elijah Case and Hannah Wilson, in October 1783 at Barkhamsted, Litchfield Co., CT.¹ Samuel Beach died in June 1815 at Worthington, Franklin Co., OH, at age 65.¹ He was buried at St. John's Cemetery, Worthington, Franklin Co., OH.¹

Samuel was one of the original proprietors of the Scioto Company present at the partition of land on August 11, 1804.²

     Elijah Case Jr. was born on 22 October 1757. He was the son of Elijah Case and Hannah Wilson.

In a letter, Ruth Duncan quotes a local newspaper:

"200 Years Ago. Sept. 14, 1788. Whereas my wife, Catherine Case, aches me with insolent behaviour, and undutiful marriage, has sold and embezzled my goods and estate, and persists in so doing. It is therefore necessary for me to forbid all persons trading with, or harboring her, for I will not pay any debts she may contract after this date. Elijah Case. Barkhamsted."

     Gabriel Case was born at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT. He was the son of Elijah Case and Hannah Wilson.

     Asaph Case was the son of Elijah Case and Hannah Wilson.

     Ruth Duncan says that Rosette had a son Thomas Barber, b. 13 Jan 1781, Barkhmasted (VR).

Don Barber says that Joel Barber m(1) Rosetta Case d/o Joel and Thankful (Hoskins) Case. They had Thomas b. 13 Jan 1781. He suggests that Rosetta and Joel must have been divorced.

Ruth does show a Rosette on page 19, d/o Joel and Thankful, but does not assign any children to this marriage.

I have asked Don to provide further information. Rosette Case was the daughter of Elijah Case and Hannah Wilson.

     Thomas Barber was born on 13 January 1781 at Barkhamsted, Litchfield Co., CT. He was the son of Joel Barber and Rosette Case.

     Annis Case was the daughter of Elijah Case and Hannah Wilson. Annis Case married Benjamin Andrews on 29 October 1784 at Barkhamsted, Litchfield Co., CT.

     Benjamin Andrews married Annis Case, daughter of Elijah Case and Hannah Wilson, on 29 October 1784 at Barkhamsted, Litchfield Co., CT. Benjamin Andrews died on 14 May 1800 at hung himself.

     William Case was the son of Elijah Case and Hannah Wilson. William Case was baptized on 17 July 1768. He died young.

     William Palmer Case was the son of Elijah Case and Hannah Wilson. William Palmer Case was baptized on 4 April 1773.

     Reuben Andrews was born on 2 April 1786. He was the son of Benjamin Andrews and Annis Case.

     Archibald Andrews was born on 29 November 1788. He was the son of Benjamin Andrews and Annis Case.

     Anne Andrews was born on 3 May 1793. She was the daughter of Benjamin Andrews and Annis Case.

     Martin Case Jr. was born on 27 March 1758 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT. He was the son of Martin Case and Lucy Adams. Martin Case Jr. died on 2 June 1774 at drowned at age 16.

     Sybil Case was born on 5 June 1765 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT. She was the daughter of Martin Case and Lucy Adams. Sybil Case married Seth Hillyer on 10 April 1783 at Granby, Hartford Co., CT.²

Granby Town Records, pages 244, 252; and the Barbour Collection of CT Town Records, Granby, pages 81, 112, show that MRS. Sybal Case married Seth Hillyer.

     Seth Hillyer married Sybil Case, daughter of Martin Case and Lucy Adams, on 10 April 1783 at Granby, Hartford Co., CT.¹

     Sybil Hillyer was born on 19 May 1786 at Granby, Hartford Co., CT.¹ She was the daughter of Seth Hillyer and Sybil Case. Sybil Hillyer died on 9 August 1803 at age 17; dysentery.² She was buried at Baptist Cemetery, Granby, Hartford Co., CT.²

     Seth Hillyer was born on 17 June 1788 at Granby, Hartford Co., CT.¹ He was the son of Seth Hillyer and Sybil Case.

     Chloe Hillyer was born on 6 May 1790 at Granby, Hartford Co., CT. She was the daughter of Seth Hillyer and Sybil Case.

     Lora Hillyer was born on 7 September 1792 at Granby, Hartford Co., CT.¹ She was the daughter of Seth Hillyer and Sybil Case.

     Tracy Hillyer was born on 9 September 1794 at Granby, Hartford Co., CT.¹ She was the daughter of Seth Hillyer and Sybil Case. Tracy Hillyer married Zopher Viets, son of Seth Viets and Ruth Smith, on 11 May 1814 at East Granby, Hartford Co., CT. Tracy Hillyer died on 20 November 1868 at Conneaut, Ashtabula Co., OH, at age 74.

     Zopher Viets was born on 30 January 1790. He was the son of Seth Viets and Ruth Smith. Zopher Viets married Tracy Hillyer, daughter of Seth Hillyer and Sybil Case, on 11 May 1814 at East Granby, Hartford Co., CT. Zopher Viets died on 4 September 1860 at Williamsfield, Ashtabula Co., OH, at age 70.

     Harriet Hillyer was born on 1 February 1797 at Granby, Hartford Co., CT.¹ She was the daughter of Seth Hillyer and Sybil Case. Harriet Hillyer died on 31 July 1803 at age 6; dysentery.² She was buried at Baptist Cemetery, Granby, Hartford Co., CT.²

     The Granby Town Records shows a conflict with the birth dates of Cleo and Alma, showing both to be 1799. Apparently there was a mis-reading of Cleo (Chloe)'s record. It is the same in the Barbour collection. Ruth Duncan has different dates but cites the VR. She must have read them herself. Alma Hillyer was born on 12 May 1799 at Granby, Hartford Co., CT.¹ She was the daughter of Seth Hillyer and Sybil Case.

     Lucy Case was born on 20 October 1766 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT. She was the daughter of Martin Case and Lucy Adams.

     Electa Moore died at OH. She was born on 23 October 1759 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT. She was the daughter of Obadiah Moore and Abigail (?) Electa Moore married George Case, son of Capt. John Case and Sarah Barber, on 2 November 1783 at First Congregational Church, Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT.

     Obadiah Moore was born on 7 November 1726 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT.¹ He was the son of Amos Moore and Martha Owen.² Obadiah Moore died after 4 September 1782.¹

     Henry Case was the son of George Case and Electa Moore. Henry Case married Orpha Case, daughter of Martin Case and Lucy Adams.

     Martin Case was born at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT. He was the son of Martin Case and Lucy Adams. Martin Case was baptized on 16 November 1777. He married Rachel Moore, daughter of David Moore and Mary Adams. Martin Case died on 19 March 1841 at OH.

     Rachel Moore was the daughter of David Moore and Mary Adams. Rachel Moore married Martin Case, son of Martin Case and Lucy Adams.

     Rhoda Willcockson was born on 13 March 1732 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT. She was the daughter of Deacon William Willcockson and Thankful Adams.¹ Rhoda Willcockson married Micah Case, son of Capt. Jonathan Case and Mary Beaman, on 7 November 1751 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT.²

     DAR record 91118 indicates that Micah enlisted in 1775 in Capt. Malcolm Henry's Company, Col. David Brewer's Connecticut State troops. He was engaged in the battle of White Plains. It indicates that he was born and died in Granby. Micah Case was born on 10 July 1756 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT. He was the son of Micah Case and Rhoda Willcockson. Micah Case married Catherine (?) in 1780. Micah Case died on 22 June 1834 at Granby, Hartford Co., CT, at age 77.

     Catherine (?) was born circa 1763. She married Micah Case, son of Micah Case and Rhoda Willcockson, in 1780. Catherine (?) died on 4 June 1807.

     DAR record 91118. Elizur Case was born on 7 October 1787 at Granby, Hartford Co., CT. He was the son of Micah Case and Catherine (?) Elizur Case married Lydia Ann Phelps, daughter of Isaac Phelps and Mary Burgh, on 19 June 1816 at First Congregational Church, Granby, Hartford Co., CT. Elizur Case died in 1837.

     Lydia Ann Phelps was born on 16 July 1789 at Granby, Hartford Co., CT. She was the daughter of Isaac Phelps and Mary Burgh. Lydia Ann Phelps married Elizur Case, son of Micah Case and Catherine (?), on 19 June 1816 at First Congregational Church, Granby, Hartford Co., CT. Lydia Ann Phelps died on 30 June 1849 at New York City, NY, at age 59.

     Isaac was a sergeant in Capt. Worthy Waters' Company of Hebron, Ct. DAR record 91118. Isaac Phelps was born in 1746. He married Mary Burgh in 1768. Isaac Phelps died in 1819 at Granby, Hartford Co., CT.

     Mary Burgh was born in 1747. She married Isaac Phelps in 1768. Mary Burgh died in 1835.

     DAR record 91118. James Henry Case was born on 17 May 1832. He was the son of Elizur Case and Lydia Ann Phelps. James Henry Case married Mary C. Ducy in 1851. James Henry Case died in 1899.

     Mary C. Ducy was born in 1830. She married James Henry Case, son of Elizur Case and Lydia Ann Phelps, in 1851. Mary C. Ducy died in 1919.
