     Capt. Samuel Buell was the son of John Buell and Lydia Peck.

     Lydia Buell was the daughter of John Buell and Lydia Peck.

     Belinda Buell was born on 13 December 1789. She was the daughter of Obed Buell and Honor Marsh. Belinda Buell died on 25 September 1791 at age 1.

     Elias Buell was born on 16 November 1790. He was the son of Obed Buell and Honor Marsh.

     Elisha L. Buell was born on 14 November 1792. She was the daughter of Obed Buell and Honor Marsh.

     Andrew Buell was born on 8 March 1794. He was the son of Obed Buell and Honor Marsh.

     Silas Buell was born on 25 June 1795. He was the son of Obed Buell and Honor Marsh.

     Melinda Buell was born on 28 March 1798. She was the daughter of Obed Buell and Honor Marsh.

     Honor Buell was born on 17 June 1801. She was the daughter of Obed Buell and Honor Marsh.

     Almira Buell was born on 11 February 1803. She was the daughter of Obed Buell and Honor Marsh.

     Augustus O. Buell was born on 10 February 1805. He was the son of Obed Buell and Honor Marsh.

     William E. Buell was born on 12 March 1807. He was the son of Obed Buell and Honor Marsh.

     Charles Henry Buell was born on 28 November 1809. He was the son of Obed Buell and Honor Marsh.

     Bowman lists him here but he is not in Spear or GBW. She wonders if this is the Daniel who is son of Capt Thomas Holcombe II. Daniel Holcombe was the son of Lt. Nathaniel Holcombe and Martha Buell.

     Elizabeth Holcombe was born in 1704. She was the daughter of Lt. Nathaniel Holcombe and Martha Buell. Bowman lists a second daughter named Elizabeth but Seaver does not. Bowman wonders if this is the Elizabeth, daughter of Sgt. Jonathan Holcombe.

     Mary Saxton married William Gillett, son of Jonathan Gillett and Mary Kelsey, on 14 September 1699 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT.¹ Mary Saxton married Sgt. Jonathan Holcombe, son of Nathaniel Holcombe and Mary Bliss, on 22 June 1721 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT.^2,3

     William Gillett was born on 1 September 1700 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT.¹ He was the son of William Gillett and Mary Saxton.¹ William Gillett died on 16 July 1736 or 1737 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT.¹

     Not in Seaver. Persis Holcombe was the daughter of Sgt. Jonathan Holcombe and Mary Buell.

     Abel Ansley married Lydia Morris, daughter of Job Morris and Mary Ansley.¹

     McCracken apparently mistakenly places Ruth as the 9th child of Capt. Thomas Holcombe. Ruth Holcombe was born in 1711. She was the daughter of Ensign John Holcombe and Ann Pettibone. Ruth Holcombe married Joseph Higley, son of Brewster Higley and Hester Holcombe, on 1 April 1737 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT.³ Ruth Holcombe died on 31 July 1737.

     Joseph Higley was born on 21 October 1715 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT. He was the son of Brewster Higley and Hester Holcombe. Joseph Higley married Ruth Holcombe, daughter of Ensign John Holcombe and Ann Pettibone, on 1 April 1737 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT.¹ Joseph Higley married Sarah Case, daughter of Bartholomew Case and Mary Humphrey, on 19 March 1740 or 1741 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT. Joseph Higley died on 5 May 1790 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT, at age 74.

The Higley genealogy, pg. 285 "Captain Joseph Higley was 3 times married" Soon after passing his 22nd birthday he married Ruth Holcombe, April 1, 1737. His wife died in childbirth the following July, and the infant followed his mother to the grave, one month after, August 26, 1737." Her early death with no heirs explains why she is not listed in the will of her father John.

     Sarah Hayes was born in 1722. She was the daughter of Daniel Hayes and Sarah Lee. Sarah Hayes married Nathaniel Hillyer, son of James Hillyer II and Joanna Hayes.¹

Not in father's will, written February 21, 1749/50; however, the probate record of Daniel Hayes, filed November 30, 1756, lists all six of the children as heirs, this time including daughter Sarah. ¹

     Ezekiel Hayes was born in 1723. He was the son of Daniel Hayes and Sarah Lee. Ezekiel Hayes died on 5 May 1724 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT.¹

     Benoni Hayes was born in 1725. He was the son of Daniel Hayes and Sarah Lee. Benoni Hayes died in 1726.

     Martha Hayes was born in 1726. She was the daughter of Daniel Hayes and Sarah Lee. Martha Hayes married Samuel Steele.¹

     Joel Hayes was born on 2 October 1728 at Salmon Brook Ecclesiastical Society, Hartford Co., CT.^2,3 He was the son of Daniel Hayes and Sarah Lee. Joel Hayes married Rebecca Post on 7 November 1751 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT.⁴ Joel Hayes died on 27 May 1800 at age 71.²

     Rebecca Post was born on 4 March 1736.¹ She married Joel Hayes, son of Daniel Hayes and Sarah Lee, on 7 November 1751 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT.¹ Rebecca Post died on 30 April 1817 at age 81.²

     Elizabeth Hayes was born in 1730. She was the daughter of Daniel Hayes and Sarah Lee. Elizabeth Hayes died in 1736.

     Silance Hayes was born in 1731. He was the son of Daniel Hayes and Sarah Lee. Silance Hayes died in 1736.

     Zilpah Hayes was born in 1735. She was the daughter of Daniel Hayes and Sarah Lee. Zilpah Hayes died in 1737.

     Aaron Hayes was born in 1736. He was the son of Daniel Hayes and Sarah Lee. Aaron Hayes died in 1739.

     Zilpah Hayes was born in 1738. She was the daughter of Daniel Hayes and Sarah Lee.

     Martha Holcombe was born in 1718. She was the daughter of Corporal Samuel Holcombe and Martha Phelps.

     Capt. Joel Catlin was born in 1721 at Harwinton, Litchfield Co., CT. He was the son of Benjamin Catlin and Margaret Kellogg. Capt. Joel Catlin married Sophia Holcombe, daughter of Corporal Samuel Holcombe and Martha Phelps, on 19 October 1748.² Capt. Joel Catlin died on 27 July 1797 at Harwinton, Litchfield Co., CT. He was buried at Old Cemetery, Harwinton, Litchfield Co., CT.²

Joel who as a patriot and one of the selectmen of Harwinton rendered valuable civil service during the war of the revolution.

     Brian Houell was born on 10 December 1983. He was the son of Donald Lee Houell and Gina Marie McCafferty.
