He was the son of George W. Holcombe and Jane Hilllis Brackin. Scott P. Holcombe married Clara Jewell on 22 December 1874. Scott P. Holcombe died on 11 November 1915 at Farmdale, Trubull Co., OH, at age 63.

When he registered for the WWII draft Frank listed his birth as 19 March 1882 and his residence on North Georgia St. Oklahoma City. However, the city records are explicit: 1882.
