     George L. Holcombe was born on 8 July 1862 at Granby, Hartford Co., CT.¹ He was the son of Bidwell Holcombe and Nellie Ellen Hayes. George L. Holcombe died on 10 May 1864 at age 1.¹ He was buried at West Granby Cemetery, Granby, Hartford Co., CT.¹

     Betsey Higley was born in 1775 at Granby, Hartford Co., CT.¹ She was the daughter of Ozias Higley and Martha Gillette.¹ Betsey Higley married Alpheus Hayes, son of Benjamin Hayes and Rosanna Hayes, at Granby, Hartford Co., CT. Betsey Higley died on 1 March 1807 at Granby, Hartford Co., CT.¹

     Emeline Betsey Hayes was born in 1805. She was the daughter of Alpheus Hayes and Betsey Higley. Emeline Betsey Hayes married Dr. Justus Denslow Wilcox, son of Sterling Wilcox and Sophia Denslow, in 1826 at Granby, Hartford Co., CT. Emeline Betsey Hayes died on 7 April 1881 at Hartland, Hartford Co., CT.

     Sarah Higley was born on 26 September 1781 at Granby, Hartford Co., CT. She was the daughter of Simeon Higley and Margaret Phelps. Sarah Higley married Alpheus Hayes, son of Benjamin Hayes and Rosanna Hayes, in 1809 at Cannan, CT. Sarah Higley died on 1 April 1872 at Washington, Washington Co., PA, at age 90.

     Margaret Phelps was born say 1748; based on age at death. She married Simeon Higley, son of Joseph Higley and Sarah Case, on 17 December 1771. Margaret Phelps died on 11 March 1850.¹

     George was a farmer, clothier and legislator in West Granby. George Hayes was born in 1811. He was the son of Alpheus Hayes and Sarah Higley. George Hayes married Caroline Wilcox, daughter of Sterling Wilcox and Sophia Denslow, on 28 August 1832 at Granby, Hartford Co., CT. George Hayes died on 7 September 1874.

     Charles was a lumber dealer and carriage maker in Washington, PA. Charles Hayes was born on 13 March 1813. He was the son of Alpheus Hayes and Sarah Higley. Charles Hayes married Sophia Burker Koontz, daughter of George Koontz and Elizabeth Wishby, on 2 September 1846. Charles Hayes married Margaret Fleming, daughter of William Fleming and Nancy Walker, on 9 June 1857 at Washington, Washington Co., PA.

     Edward Hayes was born on 9 August 1815. He was the son of Alpheus Hayes and Sarah Higley. Edward Hayes married Rhoda Kendall, daughter of Bildad Kendall and Amy (?), on 5 August 1839 at West Granby, Hartford Co., CT.¹

Edward was a coach builder for 50 years, later a farmer.

Edward and Rhoda were enumerated in the 1870 Columbus, Franklin Co., OH, federal census. He was a Carriage Maker, age 54, she was 54. Children in the household were Edward 22, and Anna 12. Also enumerated in the household was Josephine Mathers, her husband Samuel, and their son Edward 4.

Edward and Rhoda were enumerated in the 1880 Columbus, Franklin Co., OH, federal census. He was a c. maker age 64, she was 63. The only child in the household was Morton 34, also a c. maker.

     Frederick Hayes was born on 25 December 1818.¹ He was the son of Alpheus Hayes and Sarah Higley. Frederick Hayes married Mary Elizabeth Bedilion, daughter of Abraham Bedilion and Margaret Dever, on 5 June 1855 at Wheeling, WV.²

"Fredk" and Elizabeth were enumerated in the 1860 Wheeling, Ohio Co., VA, federal census. He was a carriage maker, age 35, she was 29. The only child in the household was Harry 2.

     Morgan Hayes was born on 13 March 1820. He was the son of Alpheus Hayes and Sarah Higley. Morgan Hayes married Sarah Jane Wilson, daughter of Maj. W. J. Wilson and Mary Scrowle, on 23 December 1845 at Washington, Washington Co., PA.¹

Morgan and Sarah were enumerated in the 1880 Washington, Washington Co., OH, federal census. He was a carriage maker age 60, she was 62. Children in the household were Charles 23, Jennie 23, Frank 18, Lottie 13, Morgan J. 8, and grandson Willie 8.

     Died unmarried. Sarah Hayes was born in 1824. She was the daughter of Alpheus Hayes and Sarah Higley. Sarah Hayes died on 29 June 1846.

     Margaret Delia Hayes was born on 15 May 1829. She was the daughter of Alpheus Hayes and Sarah Higley. Margaret Delia Hayes married Alexander McKinley, son of Alexander B. McKinley and Hetty Jones, on 17 April 1852 at Granby, Hartford Co., CT.¹

Alex and Margaret were enumerated in the 1860 Washington, Washington Co., PA, federal census. He was a watch maker, age 43, she was 30. Children in the household were Fanny 7, Thomas 5, Lucien 3, and Frank 3 months. Also in the household was Sarah Hayes, 73.

Alex and Maragaret were enumerated in the 1870 Washington, Washington Co., PA, federal census. He was a jeweler, age 53, she was 41. Children in the household were Fanny 16, Thomas 14, Lucian 13, Frank B. 9, Ella 4, Alexander 2, and Samuel 2 months. Thomas McKinley, 39, no occupation was also in the household.

     Dr. Wilcox was often a public official. Dr. Justus Denslow Wilcox was the son of Sterling Wilcox and Sophia Denslow. Dr. Justus Denslow Wilcox married Emeline Betsey Hayes, daughter of Alpheus Hayes and Betsey Higley, in 1826 at Granby, Hartford Co., CT. Dr. Justus Denslow Wilcox died in 1871.

     Dr. Lucien S. Wilcox was the son of Dr. Justus Denslow Wilcox and Emeline Betsey Hayes.

     Caroline Wilcox was born on 25 March 1814 at Granby, Hartford Co., CT. She was the daughter of Sterling Wilcox and Sophia Denslow. Caroline Wilcox married George Hayes, son of Alpheus Hayes and Sarah Higley, on 28 August 1832 at Granby, Hartford Co., CT. Caroline Wilcox died on 30 August 1882 at West Granby, Granby, Hartford Co., CT, at age 68.

     Frances Elvira Hayes was born on 19 May 1835. She was the daughter of George Hayes and Caroline Wilcox. Frances Elvira Hayes died on 18 February 1839 at age 3.

     Fanny Elvira Hayes was born on 11 December 1839. She was the daughter of George Hayes and Caroline Wilcox. Fanny Elvira Hayes died on 8 June 1868 at age 28.

     George Cassius Hayes was born on 26 August 1844. He was the son of George Hayes and Caroline Wilcox. George Cassius Hayes died on 28 September 1846 at age 2.

     Jennie Delia Hayes was born on 3 April 1849. She was the daughter of George Hayes and Caroline Wilcox. Jennie Delia Hayes married Wilbur H. Ruick, son of Eber Ruick and Jane Pratt, on 3 December 1873.

     Wilbur H. Ruick was born circa 1845.¹ He was the son of Eber Ruick and Jane Pratt. Wilbur H. Ruick married Jennie Delia Hayes, daughter of George Hayes and Caroline Wilcox, on 3 December 1873.

Wilbur was a farmer in West Granby, CT.

     Sophia Burker Koontz was born on 13 March 1832. She was the daughter of George Koontz and Elizabeth Wishby. Sophia Burker Koontz married Charles Hayes, son of Alpheus Hayes and Sarah Higley, on 2 September 1846. Sophia Burker Koontz died on 14 October 1854 at Washington, Washington Co., PA, at age 22.

     Sarah Maria Hayes was born on 11 March 1848 at Washington, Washington Co., PA. She was the daughter of Charles Hayes and Sophia Burker Koontz. Sarah Maria Hayes married Robert Rhodes Forest, son of George Forest and Alice Rhodes, on 25 April 1869 at Washington, Washington Co., PA.¹

Robert and Sarah were enumerated in the 1880 South Strabane, Washington Co., PA, federal census. He was a brick maker, age 39, she was 32. Children in the household were Sophia D. 8, and Alice V. 3.

     Margaret Fleming was born on 13 March 1832 at Washington, Washington Co., PA. She was the daughter of William Fleming and Nancy Walker. Margaret Fleming married Charles Hayes, son of Alpheus Hayes and Sarah Higley, on 9 June 1857 at Washington, Washington Co., PA.

     James Hayes was born on 10 May 1858. He was the son of Charles Hayes and Margaret Fleming. James Hayes died on 20 March 1859.

     Nancy Kate Hayes was born on 23 March 1860. She was the daughter of Charles Hayes and Margaret Fleming.

     Lola Bell Hayes was born on 11 May 1862. She was the daughter of Charles Hayes and Margaret Fleming.

     Margaret Fleming Hayes was born on 22 May 1864. She was the daughter of Charles Hayes and Margaret Fleming.

     Bessie Carrie Hayes was born on 4 April 1866. She was the daughter of Charles Hayes and Margaret Fleming.

     Charles Howard Hayes was born on 25 August 1871. He was the son of Charles Hayes and Margaret Fleming.

     Hiram Case was born on 28 December 1798 at Granby, Hartford Co., CT. He was the son of Job Case Jr. and Mary Holcombe.

"Hiram Case was unmarried until after the death of his father and step-mother but married prior to the final division of his father's property in 1835. He apparently removed from Ohio soon after this, and one source suggests that the family lived at Wheeling, Virginia (now West Virginia).¹

     Lucy Case was born on 7 July 1801 at Granby, Hartford Co., CT. She was the daughter of Job Case Jr. and Mary Holcombe. Lucy Case married Gaylord Adams, son of Matthew Adams and Betsy Case, on 11 July 1824 at Licking Co., OH.¹ Lucy Case died on 30 March 1882 at Portage, NY, at age 80.¹

     Elnathan Taylor was the son of George O. Taylor and Mary J. Holcombe.

     Charles Carroll Allen was born on 18 February 1840. He was the son of Justus Luther Allen and Alma A. Hayes. Charles Carroll Allen married Sarah E. Hayes, daughter of Charles Vincent Hayes and Marietta Messenger. Charles Carroll Allen died on 26 April 1880 at age 40; BGCC says death is 1880. He was buried at Center Cemetery, Granby, Hartford Co., CT.

     Julius Allen was born on 23 August 1845. He was the son of Justus Luther Allen and Alma A. Hayes. Julius Allen married Margaret A. Hayes. Julius Allen died in 1887. He was buried at Center Cemetery, Granby, Hartford Co., CT.¹

     Mary A. Allen was born on 16 April 1849. She was the daughter of Justus Luther Allen and Alma A. Hayes.

     Margaret A. Hayes was born in 1848. She married Julius Allen, son of Justus Luther Allen and Alma A. Hayes. Margaret A. Hayes died in 1912. She was buried at Center Cemetery, Granby, Hartford Co., CT.

     Humphrey Wheeler was born circa 1796 at NY.¹ He married Penelope Holcombe, daughter of Butler Holcombe and Temperance Gossett.

     Charles Webber was born in 1799.¹ He married Polly Holcombe, daughter of Butler Holcombe and Temperance Gossett. Charles Webber died in 1871 at NY.¹ He was buried at Knoxboro-Augusta Cemetery, Augusta, Oneida Co., NY.¹
