     Homer Holcombe was born circa 1823.¹ He was the son of Lott Holcombe and Susan Barker.¹ Homer Holcombe married Elizabeth Law.²

Homer and Elizabeth were enumerated in the 1870 Windham, Greene Co., NY, federal census, page 25. He was a farmer age 46, she was 40. Children in the household were Marcus B. age 13, Lillie 7, and George 9 months.

McPherson ³ asserts that they went to Nebraska in 1873.

Homer F. and Betsey were enumerated in the 1880 Windham, Greene Co., NY, federal census, page 11, which shoots McPherson's assertion that they moved to Nebraska seem pretty lame. Homer was a farmer age 56, Betsey was 50. Children in the household were Marcus B. age 23, Lillie A. 18, George W. 10, and John F. 7.

     Elizabeth Law was also known as Betsey Law.² She was born circa 1829.¹ She married Homer Holcombe, son of Lott Holcombe and Susan Barker.¹

     Elizabeth N. Holcombe was born in 1821.¹ She was the daughter of Homer Holcombe and Margaret Benham.¹

     Kymber B. Holcombe was born in 1824.¹ She was the daughter of Homer Holcombe and Margaret Benham.¹

     Margaret B. Holcombe was born in 1826.¹ She was the daughter of Homer Holcombe and Margaret Benham.¹

     Clarissa B. Holcombe was born in 1831.¹ She was the daughter of Homer Holcombe and Margaret Benham.¹

     Mark T. Holcombe was born in 1832.¹ He was the son of Homer Holcombe and Margaret Benham.¹

     Ann Rovilla Holcombe was born in 1834.¹ She was the daughter of Homer Holcombe and Margaret Benham.¹

     Elijah Rose was born circa 1840 at NY.¹ He married Martha Cotton, daughter of Giles Cotton and Dolly (?).¹ Elijah Rose died in 1888.¹ He was buried at Fairlawn Cemetery, Prattsville, Greene Co., NY.¹

Elijah and Martha were enumerated in the 1870 Prattsville, Greene Co., NY, federal census, page 388, handwritten page 30, dwelling 224, household 248. He was a harness maker age 30, she was 26. Children in the household were Cora 3, Jessie 2, and Charlie 1 month.

Elijah M. and Martha C. were enumerated in the 1880 Prattsville, Greene Co., NY federal census, page 366, handwritten page 19, dwelling 191, household 216. He was a harness maker age 38, she was 36. Children in the household were Cora 13, Jessie 12, Arlington 10, and Charles 8.

There is some confusion between the 1870 and 1880 census records. In 1870 the child born in 1870 was called "Charlie". In 1880 the 10 year old child was called Arlington and an 8-year-old child was called Charles.

     Martha Cotton was born circa 1844 at Ashland, Greene Co., NY.¹ She was the daughter of Giles Cotton and Dolly (?)¹ Martha Cotton married Elijah Rose.¹ Martha Cotton died in 1879.¹

     Flora Heuperman was born on 21 March 1893 at Amsterdam, Holland.^1,2 She married Myron Holcombe, son of Omar Alonzo Holcombe and Sarah Ellen Fowkes, on 22 March 1921 at San Francisco, San Francisco Co., CA.¹ Flora Heuperman died on 1 December 1983 at San Jose, Santa Clara Co., CA, at age 90.^1,2 She was buried on 5 December 1983 at Oak Hill Memorial Park, San Jose, Santa Clara Co., CA.¹

     Richard H. Holcombe was born on 1 February 1928 at San Leandro, Alameda Co., CA.^1,2 He was the son of Myron Holcombe and Flora Heuperman.^1,2 Richard H. Holcombe died on 4 October 1998 at Youngstown, OH, at age 70.^1,2 He was buried at Munn Cemetery, Newbury, Geauga Co., OH.¹

Richard's middle initial may have been for his mother's maiden name, Heuperman. He was a physicist at General Electric for over 30 years.

     Bryan Jeffrey Holcombe died in December 1991 at Newark, New Castle Co., DE.¹ He was born in December 1991 at Newark, New Castle Co., DE.¹ He was the son of Jeffrey Edward Holcombe and Tracy Jo Bowden.¹

     Sarah Holcombe was born on 14 December 1792 at near Burlington, Chittenden Co., VT. She was the daughter of Darius Holcombe and Mehitable Holcombe. Sarah Holcombe married James Harpham. Sarah Holcombe married James Popenoe on 13 November 1821 at Yellow Springs, Greene Co., OH.¹ Sarah Holcombe died on 22 May 1874 at age 81.²

     James Harpham married Sarah Holcombe, daughter of Darius Holcombe and Mehitable Holcombe. James Harpham died at Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., OH.

     James Popenoe was born on 20 August 1777 at Monongalia Co., WV.^1,2 He married Sarah Holcombe, daughter of Darius Holcombe and Mehitable Holcombe, on 13 November 1821 at Yellow Springs, Greene Co., OH.³ James Popenoe died on 19 August 1848 at Centerville, Montgomery Co., OH, at age 70.^1,2 He was buried at Sugar Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Centerville, Montgomery Co., OH.²

     Presley Martin Popenoe was born on 6 November 1822.¹ He was the son of James Popenoe and Sarah Holcombe.¹ Presley Martin Popenoe died in 1853.

     Judson Popenoe was born on 14 April 1824.¹ He was the son of James Popenoe and Sarah Holcombe.¹

     Willis Parkison Popenoe was born on 21 July 1826.¹ He was the son of James Popenoe and Sarah Holcombe.¹

     Albert Gallatin Popenoe was born on 6 December 1829.¹ He was the son of James Popenoe and Sarah Holcombe.¹

     Martha Jane Popenoe was born on 6 December 1831 at Xenia, Greene Co., OH.¹ She was the daughter of James Popenoe and Sarah Holcombe.¹
