     Hannah married (2) Nathaniel Bancroft and bore 6 children to him. Hannah Bissell was born on 12 January 1670 or 1671 at Windsor, Hartford Co., CT. She was the daughter of Nathaniel Bissell and Mindwell Moore. Hannah Bissell married Tahan Grant, son of Tahan Grant and Hannah Palmer, circa 1690 at Windsor, Hartford Co., CT. Hannah Bissell married Lt. Samuel Bancroft. Hannah Bissell died on 27 January 1708 or 1709 at Windsor, Hartford Co., CT.

     Died at about age 37. Mary Warren married Joseph Grant, son of Tahan Grant and Hannah Palmer, on 1 May 1701. Mary Warren died on 2 January 1718 or 1719.

     Thomas Skinner was born on 15 November 1680.¹ He was the son of John Skinner and Mary Easton.¹ Thomas Skinner married Sarah Grant, daughter of Samuel Grant Jr. and Anna Filley, on 19 July 1705.¹

     Stiles has his Hannah Grant's confused.

Page 306 he shows Hannah, the daughter of Samuel and Grace Minor Grant, marrying (2) John Gaylord (son of John and Mary Clark Gaylord). She was born 28 March 1689.

Page 308 he shows Hannah, the daughter of Tahan and Hannah Bissell Grant, marrying John Gaylord (son of John and Mary Clark Gaylord). He doesn't have a birth date but shows her to be aged three on 2 May, 1693 when her father's estate was inventoried. Hannah Grant married Thomas Morton. Hannah Grant was born on 28 March 1689 at Windsor, Hartford Co., CT. She was the daughter of Samuel Grant Jr. and Grace Minor. Hannah Grant married John Gaylord, son of John Gaylord and Mary Clark, on 3 April 1712.

     Thomas Morton married Hannah Grant, daughter of Samuel Grant Jr. and Grace Minor. Thomas Morton died on 20 July 1708.

Tradition says that when the first burial ground was laid out there he was heard to say, "I hopoe I shall be foe firs tone buried here"; and, not long after that, he fell from a cherry tree in the yard since occupied by Major F. W. Grant, breaking his neck and killing him at once, so that he was the first one buried there.

     John Gaylord was born on 8 June 1686 at Windsor, Hartford Co., CT. He was the son of John Gaylord and Mary Clark. John Gaylord married Hannah Grant, daughter of Samuel Grant Jr. and Grace Minor, on 3 April 1712. John Gaylord died on 24 June 1722 at Windsor, Hartford Co., CT, at age 36.

     Mary Clark was born on 22 September 1658. She was the daughter of Capt. Daniel Clark and Mary Newberry. Mary Clark married John Gaylord, son of William Gaylord and Ann Porter, on 13 December 1683. Mary Clark died on 14 April 1738 at age 79.

     Capt. Daniel Clark was baptized on 8 July 1623 at Tarvin, Cheshire, England.² He was the son of Rev. Sabbath Clark and Elizabeth Overton.³ Capt. Daniel Clark married Mary Newberry, daughter of Thomas Newberry and Jane Dabinott, on 13 June 1644 at Windsor, Hartford Co., CT.² Capt. Daniel Clark married Martha Pitkin.² Capt. Daniel Clark died on 12 August 1710 at Windsor, Hartford Co., CT, at age 87.²

     James Hall was born circa 1791 at Isle La Motte, Grand Isle Co., VT. He was the son of Elihu Hall and Roxanna Holcombe. James Hall died on 24 December 1846 at Isle La Motte, Grand Isle Co., VT.

     Name may have been Enoch. Elihu Hall was born on 17 July 1795. He was the son of Elihu Hall and Roxanna Holcombe.

     Stratton, page 295, notes that "Regarding the death date of BETSEY COCHRAN, no record has been found, but we find a Billing dated 27 Oct 1837 -- 'Mrs. BETSEY HALL'S coffin --$30.00'".

Donna H. Larose visited the South Cemetery located near the ILM Historical society in May of 1998. She copied down the name of "Martha", assuming that she was the wife of Simeon (noting that there were no dates given, or she somehow neglected to write them down).

However, Stratton does not mention any additional marriage to a "Martha", only the marriage to "Betsey Cochran". Additionally, Stratton does not list a child fo Simeon by the name of "Martha".

Donna thinks further research and another trip to the cemetery are warranted to determine exactly who simeon's wives were. Simeon Hall was born in 1797 at Isle La Motte, Grand Isle Co., VT. He was the son of Elihu Hall and Roxanna Holcombe. Simeon Hall died on 1 November 1858 at Isle La Motte, Grand Isle Co., VT.

     Rev. Ira Franklin Hall was born on 8 February 1800 at Isle La Motte, Grand Isle Co., VT. He was the son of Elihu Hall and Roxanna Holcombe. Rev. Ira Franklin Hall died on 28 February 1873 at age 73.¹ He was buried at Riverside Cemetery, Ellenburgh Center, Clinton Co., NY.

     Laura Hall was born circa 1801 at Isle La Motte, Grand Isle Co., VT. She was the daughter of Elihu Hall and Roxanna Holcombe. Laura Hall died on 6 June 1845 at Isle La Motte, Grand Isle Co., VT.

     Stratton, p. 299:

Carmi Hall was a successful and prosperous farmer of Isle LaMotte. In 1870 his farm is valued at $11,250. His farm was owned (1882) by his sons, Jared P. & Ira Hall and is listed as being 194 acres.

Carmi Hall was quite active in Town Offices, serving as Town Treasurer, 1838-1856; Rep. from Isle la Motte to the Vt. State Leg., 1853; Selectman, 1855, etc. Carmi Hall married Mary Pike, daughter of Ezra Pike and Mary Garlick. Carmi Hall was born on 3 March 1804 at Isle La Motte, Grand Isle Co., VT. He was the son of Elihu Hall and Roxanna Holcombe. Carmi Hall died on 1 August 1874 at Isle La Motte, Grand Isle Co., VT, at age 70.

     Jeremiah Hall was born circa 1805 at Isle La Motte, Grand Isle Co., VT. He was the son of Elihu Hall and Roxanna Holcombe.

     Charlotte Hall was born circa 1807 at Isle La Motte, Grand Isle Co., VT. She was the daughter of Elihu Hall and Roxanna Holcombe. Charlotte Hall married Ichabod Dawson before 1827. Charlotte Hall died on 24 May 1847. She was buried at East Beekmantown Cemetery, Beekmantown, Clinton Co., NY.

     Diana Hall was born circa 1809 at Isle La Motte, Grand Isle Co., VT. She was the daughter of Elihu Hall and Roxanna Holcombe. Diana Hall died on 12 July 1860.

     Mariah Hall was born circa 1810 at Isle La Motte, Grand Isle Co., VT. He was the son of Elihu Hall and Roxanna Holcombe.

     Louisa Hall was born circa 1815 at Isle La Motte, Grand Isle Co., VT. She was the daughter of Elihu Hall and Roxanna Holcombe. Louisa Hall died on 12 September 1847 at Isle La Motte, Grand Isle Co., VT.

     Martha M. Hall was born in 1836 at Isle La Motte, Grand Isle Co., VT. She was the daughter of Hiram Hall and Susan Hall. Martha M. Hall died on 30 November 1896 at Isle La Motte, Grand Isle Co., VT.

     Louisa J. Hall was born on 16 June 1840 at Isle La Motte, Grand Isle Co., VT. She was the daughter of Hiram Hall and Susan Hall. Louisa J. Hall married Matthew Saxe Thomas, son of Rowland S. Thomas and Abigail Brown, before 1866. Louisa J. Hall died on 13 January 1917 at Isle La Motte, Grand Isle Co., VT, at age 76.

     Julia Ann Hall was born on 2 February 1843 at Isle La Motte, Grand Isle Co., VT. She was the daughter of Hiram Hall and Susan Hall. Julia Ann Hall married Oliver J. Thomas, son of Rowland S. Thomas and Abigail Brown. Julia Ann Hall died on 10 February 1912 at Isle La Motte, Grand Isle Co., VT, at age 69.

     Minerva M. Hall was born on 19 July 1858 at Isle La Motte, Grand Isle Co., VT. She was the daughter of William E. Hall and Joanna E. Thomas. Minerva M. Hall died on 5 April 1935 at Alburg, Grand Isle, VT, at age 76.

     Elizabeth Libbie Hall was born on 8 September 1860 at Isle La Motte, Grand Isle Co., VT. She was the daughter of William E. Hall and Joanna E. Thomas. Elizabeth Libbie Hall died on 16 December 1931 at Alburg, Grand Isle, VT, at age 71.

     Charles Vassar Soule was born on 4 September 1885 at Alburg, Grand Isle, VT. He was the son of William Arthur Soule and Ella A. Hall. Charles Vassar Soule married Ida Jones on 22 December 1908.¹ Charles Vassar Soule died on 15 March 1962 at age 76.

Charles and Ida were enumerated in the District 7, Albany Ward 1, Albany Co., NY, federal census. He was a civil engineer, age 34, she was 34. Children in the household were Mildred 9, and Harold 7 months.

Charles and Ida were enumerated in the 1930 District 98, Bethlehem, Albany Co., NY, federal census. He was a general contractor, age 44, she was 44. Children in the household were Mildred 19, Harold 10, and Herbert 9.

     George Henry Soule was born on 1 May 1889 at Alburg, Grand Isle, VT. He was the son of William Arthur Soule and Ella A. Hall. George Henry Soule died on 1 April 1958 at Charlotte, Mecklenburg Co., NC, at age 68.

     Ralph Osborn Soule was born on 23 November 1904 at Alburg, Grand Isle, VT. He was the son of Milan Virgil Soule and Lillie May Hemingway. Ralph Osborn Soule died on 20 July 1970 at North Hero, Grand Isle Co., VT, at age 65.

     Ruth Cynthia Soule was born on 15 April 1908 at Alburg, Grand Isle, VT. She was the daughter of Milan Virgil Soule and Lillie May Hemingway. Ruth Cynthia Soule died on 2 November 1986 at Alburg, Grand Isle, VT, at age 78.

     Charles Virgil Soule was born on 26 July 1909 at Alburg, Grand Isle, VT. He was the son of Milan Virgil Soule and Lillie May Hemingway. Charles Virgil Soule died on 10 August 1969 at age 60.

     Marjorie Catherine Soule was born on 15 May 1911 at Alburg, Grand Isle, VT. She was the daughter of Milan Virgil Soule and Lillie May Hemingway. Marjorie Catherine Soule died on 28 May 1968 at age 57.

     Matthew Soule was born on 26 February 1916 at Alburg, Grand Isle, VT. He was the son of Milan Virgil Soule and Lillie May Hemingway. Matthew Soule died on 13 May 1991 at St. Albans, Franklin Co., VT, at age 75.

     George Edward Soule was born on 8 May 1918 at Alburg, Grand Isle, VT. He was the son of Milan Virgil Soule and Lillie May Hemingway. George Edward Soule died on 30 July 1965 at age 47.

     Robert Theodore Soule was born on 21 January 1920 at Alburg, Grand Isle, VT.¹ He was the son of Milan Virgil Soule and Lillie May Hemingway. Robert Theodore Soule died on 19 September 1991 at Hanover, NH, at age 71.¹

     Milan Jay Soule was born on 1 January 1922 at Alburg, Grand Isle, VT. He was the son of Milan Virgil Soule and Lillie May Hemingway. Milan Jay Soule died on 17 October 1977 at age 55.

     Dorothy May Soule was born on 11 May 1926 at Alburg, Grand Isle, VT. She was the daughter of Milan Virgil Soule and Lillie May Hemingway. Dorothy May Soule died on 19 March 1997 at St. Albans, Franklin Co., VT, at age 70.

     Anna Lillian Soule was born on 17 October 1929 at Alburg, Grand Isle, VT. She was the daughter of Milan Virgil Soule and Lillie May Hemingway.

     Stephen Griffin was born circa 1708. He was the son of Thomas Griffin and Elizabeth Welton.¹ Stephen Griffin married Mary (?) circa 1736.¹ Stephen Griffin died on 30 March 1743 at Drowned, Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT.

Stephen Griffin drowned in the river at Simsbury on 30 March 1743. The record reads as follows: "Stephen Griffin viz drowned in the River at the falls in Simsbury." Simsbury Town Meeting Record Book, Vol. 3, page 208.

His probate was done on 2 May 1743. From EARLY CONNECTICUT PROBATE RECORDS, Vol. III, Hartford District, 1729-1750, by Charles William Manwaring, 1906; page 408-409.

     Mary (?) married (?) DeLacy.¹ Mary (?) married Stephen Griffin, son of Thomas Griffin and Elizabeth Welton, circa 1736.¹

Mary Delacey thought to be the daughter of the governor of a West Indies island.

     Joshua P. Holcombe was born in 1752; Bates just says he was born on the "13th day AD 1752".^3,4 He was the son of Joshua Holcombe IV and Martha Griffin. Joshua P. Holcombe died in 1810.

     Caleb Holcombe was born on 25 January 1754 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT.² He was the son of Joshua Holcombe IV and Martha Griffin. Caleb Holcombe married Mercy (?) on 25 December 1776 at Granby, Hartford Co., CT.³ Caleb Holcombe died on 4 December 1844 at Windsor, Ashtabula Co., OH, at age 90. He was buried at Windsor Township Cemetery, Windsor, Ashtabula Co., OH.⁴

It has been suggested that Caleb was instead the son of Caleb (Joshua II) and Elizabeth.

Caleb served as a private in the American Revolutin in the Co. of Capt. Hezekiah Holcomb; arrived in NY August 26, discharged Sept 8, 1776. He was a taxpayer at E. Granby in 1785, moved to Hunter, Green Co., NY, later to Hartsgrove, Dist. #8, Ashtabula Co., OH.

McPherson states that Caleb died in 1810.

Michael Holcombe reports that Caleb may not have died in 1810, that being the year he left Connecticut. Caleb and Mercy are recorded in Windsor, Ohio census lists through 1840, where they were over eighty years old. Windsor Mills Cemetery gravestone inscriptions indicate Mercy died November 4, age 88 years and Caleb died December 4, with age stated as 92. If his birth date is correct, Caleb would have been 90.⁵

     Mercy (?) married Caleb Holcombe, son of Joshua Holcombe IV and Martha Griffin, on 25 December 1776 at Granby, Hartford Co., CT.¹ Mercy (?) died on 4 November 1844 at Windsor, Ashtabula Co., OH. She was buried at Windsor Township Cemetery, Windsor, Ashtabula Co., OH.²

     Martha Holcombe was born on 11 January 1756 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT.¹ She was the daughter of Joshua Holcombe IV and Martha Griffin. Martha Holcombe married Adonijah Ford on 24 August 1772 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT.²

     Ahinoam Holcombe was born on 18 March 1759 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT.² She was the daughter of Joshua Holcombe IV and Martha Griffin. Ahinoam Holcombe married Obediah Hayes, son of Daniel Hayes II and Abigail Hayes, on 25 September 1780 at Simsbury, Hartford Co., CT.³ Ahinoam Holcombe died on 10 September 1844 at Village of North Granby, Granby, Hartford Co., CT, at age 85; dysentery. She was buried at Baptist Cemetery, Granby, Hartford Co., CT.⁴

Genealogies and the gravestone have her death as 1844 but Granby Probate Records 8-26,28 has Ahinoam deceased before 19 Sept 1843. ⁵

In the 1840 Granby, Hartford Co., CT, federal census, Ahinoam is enumerated as receiving a Revolutionary War pension.
